I have been busy investigating the Black Friday ads online today, I am amazed how the stores keep opening earlier and earlier every year. Michaels is opening at 4 pm on Thanksgiving now and Walmart's specials are starting at 10 pm on Thursday instead of midnight and Lee - they are advertising more of 'our hoodies' - I want to pick up some more! LOL!

They were playing Christmas music in the bookstore/craft party/ wine tasting/warehouse/PTA meeting of a grocery store today. Strangely, it added to the stress!!

I am going to go to Wally tomorrow to see if they have them in stock yet. I don't care if I pay a few dollars more to avoid the crowds and madness and lines on Black Friday - I used to be a BIG black Friday shopper but lately, people have gone IN-SANE!

I know I haven't gone in like 4 years, it's way to crazy

The stores are making it worse because they keep changing things!!! And now that the stores are opening earlier, other people that have NO idea of what goes on are going to be in the way!!!

We went to Michael's last Thanksgiving evening and got really cheap Christmas ribbon. It was great to take a break from standing out in the cold at Target (but hey, we got our TVs!) and go look at crafty stuff.
I saw that bfads.net had the ads for most major stores posted... I'll be checking some of those out later tonight.

It didn't used to be too bad, several years ago I woke up early to be at Walmart at 5 am - there were some folks in a line outside waiting to rush for the big ticket items - the popular electronic items and the popular toys of the season, whatever they were that year, furbies maybe? IDK - but that was it really, likr 20-25 people, they rushed that department, purchased and left and I was free to walk about the store for great deals - a 24 pack of batteries for $10, a bread maker for $39, tons of great deals on clothes, now if you go at midnight there is a line that wraps around to the back of the store (I know because my hubby and I tried going last year - MISTAKE!)

I did too, got GREAT deals on those assemble-it-yourself cubie white pieces
They have lots of sales this year too plus a 30% off everything regularly or sale priced on top of that too, so the deals are good if there is stuff you want or need (Psst, lee, you can stock up on bling!!!)
Ok we need a thread to list all the online Black Friday finds!!!!! That's the only kind of Black Friday shopping I plan to do!!!
You should start one! We can throw in our links to Michaels and Joanns ads! Plus The Cat's Pajamas is having a sale every Friday this month for 20% off everything.

I got tipped off to this deal at Splitcoast - you people are amazing!! I do plan to keep my ear to the ground here for sure. Usually people post them in the Announcements forum.
I didn't even know I needed that thing and I love it SOOO much.

I hadn't even thought of checking the Michaels' Black Friday ad!!!
I know that the last couple of years they offered the same black Friday ads for the items on their website but this year they are not! You HAVE to go in the store to get the sale. I haven't heard what they are doing for cyber Monday!
I agree! I have trouble NOT coloring on a card now (maybe I should have done that on my costume card rather than a fancy fold card?)
No, your fancy fold card looks great. I love the snow drifts. But I love coloring too. I colored 8 cards with fish on them for kids (like my HYCCT Tickled Fish/humorous card) last night. They probably won't be appreciated, but I had fun.
