I especially like that my favorite isn't the card I created for my own challenge. That might be the point of all of this huh?

OMG! I just came back after a 25 hour SCS fast (hee hee!) and saw my card in one of Lydia's posts! And I don't even know what I won yet!

OMG! Thank you!

Now I can go check the other thread...

Woo hoo! Sunday International EZ Mount package! I can ALWAYS use EZ Mount! Of course if I quit buying stamps (as if!) I wouldn't need it any more.

Now I have to go back and read the 3-plus pages that I missed since yesterday afternoon.

HYCCT1131 Asian CAS by stamp300 - Cards and Paper Crafts at Splitcoaststampers

I think this is one of my favorites because I don't normally make Asian cards, my best friend had given me all her stamps before she passed away & she loved the Asian. I even made her a quilt using the Asian people on it. It really made think of her while I was making this card.

Well that last Saturday night I had an idea and figured it would have to do because I had no bees or bugs or anything to work with. What flowed was just super happifying to me. LOVE your card, Victoria -- so very clever! Love that bee - and I totally agree with your six-year old. The sentiment is gigglicious!

I'm not very creative, which could be why I have a several cards that I absolutely HATE ... so much so that I groan whenever I see them in the gallery. I also have a few that I like and only one that I love. Funny thing is, the one I love was the easiest of them all. It was the one I did for the "Happy Place" challenge. It reminds me of the fall leaves, something I don't see much of here in Southern California. The copper flashing (left over from a roof repair job) makes the fall colors pop.

Congrats Diane on your win!

Some of my cards were not up to my usual standards as I got a late start and rushed through some to get caught up. Overall, I guess this would be my fav: Fight Like a Girl.

Congrats Diane, your card was adorable!

Here is my favorite of the challenges Hope HYCCT1129 by sunshinestgurl - Cards and Paper Crafts at Splitcoaststampers

It came together really quick, it has my favorite flower from Verve, a new sentiment that I thought went perfectly for the challenge of Encouragement. And I am the new owner of a big box of lace that was my grandmother's, and used a piece of that.

I made a couple of Fall-themed cards that I really liked too, but this card Breakfast Butterflies is out of my normal in its CAS layout and as I was also playing in an inspiration challenge I really liked the way I interpreted that as well.

I think we're all the same in a way. The cards we love the most aren't the best they are the ones that speak to us deep down inside.

And this is why I stamp too. I hope that a little of that from me gets across to the person who gets the card.

<----getting too deep now

LOL @ Victoria.... yes.... I love to create a card that I hope the person getting it gets to feel special.... I dont mind at all how long it takes... my card making is a journey sometimes while I plan, try, make "mistakes" and reinvent until 3 hrs later I have a mess, ten trips to the craft room and 1 card.... and a deep sense of satisfaction and sometimes awe at myself... like wow, did I really do this?

I couldn't afford to post all 33 cards to the USA, but I sent half, and the rest I have been sharing with women who have got cancer, are in the testing stages, or have had challenging lives caring for family..... some for people who have helped me with my own health recovery.... *runs off for a kleenex*

Picking my favourite has been hard.... I have enjoyed using tons of sets that I have never used or laid idle for a LONG time... I have never used bees, never done shaving cream marbling, never made a circle card, or a pink mens card never made pansies, never used paper for ribbon, never done a collage (let alone use a roller and then cut it up), never made a bookmark card, or a circle card but in choosing my favourite card I chose this one:

Bouquet Card- encircled with love by Ros Booth - Cards and Paper Crafts at Splitcoaststampers

I was very challenged making a circle card and wanted to be a bit different... giving love made me think of bunches of flowers and I had been on a pansy making roll, as I was loving it (wasnt making my cards in any order)...

I also went for the International Women's Day colours of Purple, Green and White, with a touch of yellow, as I looked it up again and found the addition of yellow now to represent "a new dawn" ... it touched me as I really do get immense satisfaction in belonging to SCS.... I love how our differences are set aside in the name of fellowship, and sharing. We could be anywhere in the world and we come together as women sharing our lives through our creativity, and our strength.

TFL and sharing

I agree Victoria...sometimes each of my cards for the challenges or just any card takes me awhile just to come up with an idea plus getting ideas from Papercrafts card books..I enjoy making them & I hope people enjoy them. Someone asked me the other day why I make cards & why I was doing the challenges. It makes me feel good all around & I like making people smile when they receive my cards. The Asian card I made & actually I made another one to send to my late friend's mother. She keeps all my cards & shares them with her senior group to view.

I am loving this card I made for HYCCT.

Looking in on You Window cards by mommyfink - Cards and Paper Crafts at Splitcoaststampers

I love this card because I love the meaning behind it (or what I thought of when it fell together.). While looking through my stash for an idea for the window card I came across this frame and thought of a mirror. A window into yourself. I believe sometimes during the struggle with cancer one feels not so pretty....but if you really look in the mirror....beyond the first glance.....you will see the most beautiful image of strength and hope. I wish I had more frames like this....I would make a dozen more of these very same cards!

Default Crock Pot Oatmeal

It is too late to wake up to this this morning, but did you know you can make oatmeal in your crock pot overnight!!! I use 6 cups water 2cups oatmeal, a dash of salt, and I like to add 1/2 cup oat bran for extra fiber, but the original recipe didn't call for it. You simply cook it on low overnight and in the morning you wake up to a super creamy oatmeal waiting for you! It will have a thick layer on the top that you can mix in and it does bake onto the sides a bit which requires a bit of scraping to clean, but it is worth it to wake to hot, creamy goodness!!!

Sara -- you gave me a lump in my throat. Great card with beautiful meaning!

Ros -- love your pansies! They are my MIL's favorite flower - you may have convinced me to get that butterfly punch

I'm so glad you guys are sharing your cards. I try to spend time in the gallery each day but I missed many of your cards. I loved getting a look at them all.

You know, I love that we have this opportunity to share something we feel positive about. It just seems to me that women readily talk about what they feel are their flaws and shortcomings, but we rarely say "hey, I'm proud of this about me".

Sounds delicious and my kids love oatmeal but we often run out of time in the morning. I will have to try this!!!!

OK, so I really just checked into this thread because I still haven't written V's Apple Brown Betty recipe out and we have a bunch of guests tonight.
I can image the oatmeal is delicious - we used sometimes to leave it in the warming oven of the range overnight, which would be the same sort of thing.
I'll have to think about my very favourite card because I had at least 4 that I felt I wouldn't mind making a second one of for my own stash...
I'll think about it while I make my chicken pot pie and the topping for the apple, and maybe I'll have time to pop back in after I clean the floors and carry out a vague child-proofing of the sitting room and kitchen!

I like the idea of posting the favorite of cards that we made. We usually try to be humble and not brag on what we've done. Then we can feel good when someone comments on it and brags for us. But it is also good to be pleased with a job well done - a challenge well met. I have several favorites, most of which involved something I don't usually do.

I chose this one because it is difficult for me to be funny, but you know the old saying, "laughter is the best medicine." Also, every time I look at this card I have to smile because those fish are so darn cute. Also, because of the sentiment to drop a line. Making cards is all about "dropping a line" to keep in touch. The people getting these cards really need a smile and to know that someone is reaching out to them.

Congrats to Diane & Fionna for being prize winners. (We're all winners just for participating in HYCCT.)

I never could find Lydia's post that Fionna won. I looked through this thread and the prize winners thread, but couldn't find it. I hope that if I win, someone will notify me because I don't know where Lydia posts the winners. Oooh, I do hope that I win.
