Just got off the phone with Target. I passed the background and drug test (well DUH) so am offically employed again after almost 7 years! WOW time has flown. The last day I worked was the day before I had my son who will be 7 in July.

PANIC!
Woohoo!! Love Target!!! Was even crazy enough to go at 5AM last year on Black Friday.

I was a stay-at-home mom for 13 years (hardest, yet most rewarding job ever!) ... and then I got divorced and had to make my own way in the world. Talk about SCARY!
It was good to get out of the house, meet bunches of people (my job was a very social one), and bring home a paycheck. I spent a decade at that job.
Now, I'm laid off and starting from scratch all over again. I think I'm going to check out Target. Did someone say they give discounts to employees??? I wonder if they discount the groceries. I sometimes shop for food items in my Super Target.
My parents got divorced when I was 9. My brother was 5 so had afterschool care but I was a latch key kid. I honestly can't believe now how my mom did it. She is pretty amazing. She really kept it together for all of us. My dad just wanted no real part of anything. He paid child support but it wasn't much.

Kids these days are a lot smarter than we think. They are like sponges, soaking up ever little thing they see on television, hear on the playground, overhear from their parents.
It's SCARY! LOL
Kids say the cutest things. My 7yr daughter said, "mommy you were really skinny back in high school, (almost 29yrs ago) I said, yes....she said "what happened? I said because I had you.

Bleah, I came down with a cold on Monday along with a stinky headache.
I've just packaged up my card that got away with the few I made after that - they just fit into what classes as a large envelope (less than an inch deep), so I'm good to post them in a letterbox on the way to work tomorrow.
Off for an early bed now after I write a note to a friend who just received news, after a mastectomy, that her cancer has mutated and they're assessing how best to treat it. Bleah again - she's only my age.

Hugs for you, Sabrina - I'm sorry you're not feeling well. And I'm doubly sorry about your friend's bad news.

Well, wouldn't you know it's the busiest week in work since they cut our hours a while back , and because I took two days off when I had a bad cold a couple of weeks back, I really can't afford to take time off this time round. Not while I've got any sense of smell left, at least.
OK so I was thinking how fun HYCCT was and challenging and stressful and fulfilling. How bout we each link our FAVORITE HYCCT card, one that was each made ourselves here and explain why?

do you mean a fav I made or just my hycct fav made by someone else?

VERY intersting idea. I take it you mean to pick our own favorite card - not our overall favorite card made by any participant?
Haha no problem! Have you ever seen dyac? Da**youautocorrect. hilarious site showing ways our phone typing makes us look silly.
I'm typing from my phone since I'm not motivated at work so I feel your typing pain. anyway, I will have to post my link later. I must say, I've had way more people "favorite" my projects during this month than usual, so the extra attention that comes from generous commenters and people spending time in the gallery helps!

Because that would be kind of like trying to choose which of our children is our favorite?

This would have to be my favorite "child"... I loved painting the basket. I used to paint all the time before I had my second child.. but after that one was born, I just didn't have time to paint. I started scrapbooking and put the paints away... Perhaps it's time to get them out again now that my kids are older.
Ok here's my favorite. It was literally the last card I made for the challenges. I was freaking out not knowing what I would do for this bee challenge. BEES? Really? I already had to deal with circle cards and humorous stamp and encouraging sentiments which I just don't have in my collection and now bees?!?
Well that last Saturday night I had an idea and figured it would have to do because I had no bees or bugs or anything to work with. What flowed was just super happifying to me. Love the colors together, love the sponging and the sentiment even made my 6 year old giggle. HYCCT1123 Hive by sewsplendidstamper - Cards and Paper Crafts at Splitcoaststampers
