A lady paid me for some stamps today so I went and got my FAVE strawberry avocado salad. Don't you want a bite?

Yes!!! Yes please!!! Especially as I know you know I'm sure your avocados are way nicer than any we can buy here.
I was hoping to post some cards off tomorrow when I'm posting off a finished knitting project; but I just saw DH's payslip. , and we have a big repair bill for the car, so I think I'll have to just be frugal and wait till I can send them in one go. I'll check out the postage rates and see what they tell me.

My son was at it again. This time with some awesome blondies I'm going to get even fatter if he keeps this up! Talk about buttery goodness!

They look fabulous! I had never been to that site before you posted the pop tarts link. Great site! And her photography alone makes you hungry...

Ok, Victoria -- now I know you are a genius! Why didn't I think to do that for my FIL who's had four strokes? Great idea!!

Click on your name at the top right of the screen.
Then in the column on the left go down to Edit Options under the main heading Settings and Options.

I may have to do this for people who open my cards in person...am I the only who cringes when people are struggling to open it? I want to say, "here, let me just take it out of the envelope for you. And hold it for you. Look with your eyes, not with your hands, Great Aunt Lurlene!"?

Haha, my friend brought in a natural recipe book for dog food and treats that humans and dogs can both eat. Um, yeah, I don't think I need more wheat germ in my diet, thanks.

SOoooo
the other night I went out with some friends from hs. Next year is 20th reunion for us. The group is four girls and one guy. The guy is the dreamboat two of us had MASSIVE crushes on. Ok still do a little.

Anyway not the point of the story tho he is HAWT! We were reading the yearbook and seems back then every other sentence had to be ended with J/K.

"Hey what's up dork? JK. You know you are tho." JK was the tragic precursor to LOL ACK!

Yes, I have sometimes put my card and envelope into a larger envelope so the person I'm sending it to can use the card. With certain people I always write my message on a post it note so they can then use the card.

Definitely use those days off! I worked extra today so I can have tomorrow mostly off. Going to lunch with a friend for her birthday.
If anyone noticed I updated my avatar - still the same grandaughter but in Last years halloween costume ( which I made for her) instead of the one from two years ago. I guess I need to give the other grandkids equal billing, but I don't have a picture with all 4 of them in it.

Yay!!! Thank you for that info!! I now have my Central time zone. I didn't even look at where it was set for - all I know is they are five hours ahead of my time.
Glad I got that changed!!

I should add a warning that a few of them probably aren't suitable for young children. For example, there's one taken outside of a Clay and Glass Museum, but the C and the Gl are hidden by architectural poles, and there's a person with loose fitting jeans sitting nearby.

she's darling!!

I never thought I would say this... but I miss making my kids' halloween costumes... It was a little stressful at the time because I am not a seamstress. When I got out the sewing machine, my husband took the kids to the mall because sewing makes me swear like a sailor!

My mom has trouble with getting cards out of envelopes, too. What I try to do is make the card the usual 4-1/4 inches...but cut the 5-1/2 inches down to 5-1/4 inches. Or I use the 4-1/4 inch square cards. Then I don't have to go hunting for other envelope sizes, and it is easier for her.

You know, I have a posting time question...since we *are* discussing this, after all... ...

Ok, I am looking at the gallery. On the thumbnails page I see that a card was posted on Saturday and when I open it to look at the details, it says it was posted on Sunday. Is that because the posting date on the details page is all for GMT while the thumbnails shows the local date???

(My OCD shows up...I have to know!)

I can't answer for sure, but I do know the gallery seems to run on a set time. At least, on the boards I see GMT which is right for me, (still GMT +1, but not for much longer - where has the year gone) but the time in the approval queue is showing as central time (I think, it's not Eastern anyway!). My guess is that that's the time stamp that goes on the uploads.

Waah - I want to be able to drive again. Our car came back so we could have it for the weekend, but it's still not possible to adjust the mirrors, and I can't see anything in them when they're set for DH.

My day is shot, so I might as well stamp! Got up a little late (for me-7:45) and went up to make a birthday card for my friend that I was having Lunch with. I thought about using one that I already had made but that would have been too easy. So I made her card and then finished the card I had started yesterday. Then had an idea for another challenge, so I made that one. Then made a box for the cupcake for my friend and then it was time for lunch.
We went to lunch at 11:40 and I am now just getting home. We went to look at model homes "for a few minutes" after lunch and I stopped at the post office on the way home to mail Halloween goodies to my grandkids. There was so much traffic (construction and tons of school buses) on the way home I thought I would never get home before dark. Needed to make doctor appointments but of course all their offices are closed now. Probably half of them were closed this morning too. It is Friday! Oh well more to do on Monday.
I made cute little tags to go with the bags I sent the G-kids, but I forgot to take pictures of them. Maybe one of my daughters will take a picture of the tags.
Have about 5 or 6 cards to upload tonight and 1 or 2 to make and THEN I'll be caught up!

Wait - I think I messed up - I put all of the cards into ONE large ziploc bag - I thought that was to protect them if the envelopes got wet - each card is supposed to be in its own bag? OH NO!!!!

Thanks for sharing the picture Lydia...I'm sure it is inspiring to us all! I still haven't mailed my 2nd package...hopefully in the morning. Maybe I'll work on individually wrapping them while I sit and watch a movie with my hubby!

Wow what a great sight!! I am just about to upload the pics of the last few cards I have made. Makes me excited to get back to stamping some more. Where do you all get your celephane envelopes? Mine are very tight. Need to get some new ones.

Love seeing that big pile of cards! I sent off a big box a week ago; hopefully they have arrived safely! I am working on a new box now, but am a bit behind on the challenges after being computer-less for a few days. I have a shiny new toy now (thanks to a 6-months no interest payment plan!)

I read on one of the threads (sorry, can't remember which one) that one of the HYCCT sponsors sells them, but I never could figure out which one so I bought mine on eBay. They were pretty cheap, around $7 for 100 and that included shipping. I bought the A2+ size, they are a little bigger then the regular A2 size so they fit my cards better. Hope that helps.

BTW, I had my ortho appt. today and...the specialist doesn't see the same thing has the family doc. So...hopefully it isn't fractured. now...to figure out what IS wrong with my ankle!
Now you're sounding even more like my BIL - I think his went from strain to fracture, back to strain, back to fracture - and I can tell you that after that he always gave up football a month before he needed to be driving around as an examiner at drama festivals.
Fab photos, Lydia, TFS.
We're off down country to visit my brother and his kids today, so hopefully tonight I can check what the challenge is and let it simmer in my brain overnight . Have a great day, y'all.
Got to get more envelopes too - no shortage of cello bags, I never thought about checking the envelope supply.

Hi again! I actually made 2 challenge cards! I know there's no way I'll do all of them so I'm aiming for 10, plus sending 10 more cards from my stash. I also need to make a wedding card for tonight, a get well card for my grandma, a baby card, and about 15 baby thank you cards. We'll see what happens.

Gail - Oh my word, thanks for posting the blondies recipe! I'm almost out of flour and I have a friend coming tomorrow, but I can make those! Yay!

Lydia - that is an awesome picture! I don't think I've ever seen that many pink cards before.

Those afternoon naps really throw your internal clock off don't they. I did the same thing yesterday, but I only stayed up till 2:30. So I slept in this morning and now am behind schedule for my normal Saturday. And I haven't even started on the two cards I was going to make this morning. So better go get something more productive done before lunch time.
