Yep, that would be me only add weeping to the mix! It is only food, but I feel sick throwing away all this stuff and thinking about the $$ to replace it all. We will be fine, but between the smoke damaged kitchen and dining room, the laundry waiting from the trip and a regular life to manage it is just a bit overwhelming!

I know there are several prayer warriors on this thread. Mind if I ask you to hold up one of our own in prayer?
Ravioligirl is preparing for another flood in her area. The last one destroyed two cars and a lot of her crafting items. She's been ill the past few weeks and this is the last thing she needs. Some of you may know her from the S/O Pay It Forward thread. She is a wonderfully sweet, kind, generous woman.
Here is her post explaining what's happening: S/O Pay It Forward (scroll way down to the bottom of the page)
Oh goodness, I'll be praying for Beverly, and I'm sending you a {{hug}} Gail!
If you think of me, shoot up a prayer too - we are down to 10 days before our furlough trip and I am literally running in circles... someone will be staying in our house so there are things we want to pack up here besides packing for our trip... I also still need to get some ministry things organized, printed, and ready to hand over to someone else... I packed up my markers and pencils so they're not tempting me but I seriously need some coloring time to wind down... *sigh*
Glad you got back safely from all the driving, Gail - the rain definitely makes it more tiring. And since it's hard to drive much more than 4 hours in any direction in Ireland, I just can't imagine the distances some of you drive! 15 hours for PH, 10 for Gail.
We managed to knock out the trip in 13.5 hours on the way home. Since the speed limit on many of the interstates has been raised to 70 mph outside of the largest cities, we're able to legally drive faster than we used to. We've found that it helps to travel at night, because the kids will sleep and not be asking to stop for snacks and/or bathroom breaks every couple of hours. There's also a lot less traffic at night. We started out at about 7:00 Saturday night (after eating supper) and got home around 8:30 Sunday morning, just in time for breakfast - so not having to stop for a meal also cut out a lot of time.
But yes, it's still a long time to be cooped up in a vehicle. I did manage to sleep through most of South Carolina.
I had to work today (I'm a substitute teacher), and when I came home I found a box from Ranger Industries on the porch! I'm now the owner of three collections of Perfect Pearls, some Perfect Medium pens, and a bottle of Perfect Pearls Mist. I'm looking forward to the chance to trying them out!
Yesterday I made myself a tree skirt for our Christmas tree for years to come. IT's the skirt from my wedding dress
Here's a link to a pic Instagram
Oh Victoria -- that is absolutely gorgeous and what a great idea!! You just created a spectacular heirloom. How do you do it with two little ones and a new job?? You're amazing!

So, remember the fire in my kitchen the day I drove back from Chicago in rain with wonky wipers then night before we left for our Thanksgiving trip? Well, we had known that the power was out to the outlets to the left of the stove and the range hood, but did anyone in my family of 8 notice that the refrigerator was on the same circuit???? No such luck....so today, after arriving home last night after our 12 hour drive home I'm dealing with refrigerator disaster AKA fire mess round 2! I've been weeping and tossing and cooking what can be saved and I'm a total wreck. I'm going to treat myself to some ink therapy later this afternoon!!!!
Oh no, Gail -- that absolutely stinks, literally! I wouldn't have thought of checking the fridge either. What a bummer!

Sorry Melissa didnt read your post first...
Adding to the prayer circle for ravioligirl May the elemental energies reduce the impact of the weather, and may all people, properties and creatures be safe...

@ Gail, so sorry about your fridge!! I saw and loved your stamping therapy, but oh my, I feel for you cleaning the fridge. We were once keeping an eye on a friend's house while they were away, popping over to water the plants. The day before they were due back I bought some milk to leave in the fridge, and discovered it had been off since I don't know when; it was on some circuit that had tripped because everything else was fine. I still remember the stink. And of course there was no hot water on - I was boiling kettles to start cleaning it until the water heated up.
@PH - I'm sure you'll love the Perfect Pearls!! I got a couple of sets this year and more colours are definitely on my wishlist. They're such fun to use - and such a pain to get a decent photo of the results . They make fabulous homemade glimmer mist sprays with water and a few drops of distress re-inker, too.
My MFT package was here yesterday when I got back from work, which is super speedy; it only shipped the afternoon before Thanksgiving. And there was a bonus set of Christmas sentiments too, just to put the cherry on the cake. I think I'll have to send Kim a thank-you card.
Hey Lee. I'm pretty well exhausted out this way. My house is a mess and I have a ton of laundry to do but the kids are sweet and happy and I even got a few minutes to talk with my husband last night before I fell asleep LOL
A friend came over last night and helped me finish. I managed the freezer OK, but each time I tried to do the frig I just kept crying and couldn't bring myself to throw it all away. It really didn't get gross and stinky thank goodness probably because the house was cool and no one opened the doors....some of the stuff in the freezer was still icy!
We had our first big snow last night and it is very messy on the roads today. So, today is a good day to do all the post trip stuff I would have done yesterday! LAUNDRY!!!! I did squeeze in a quick sketch challenge card with an image I'd already colored. All those hours sitting at swim practice have to be good for something!
I haven't heard about my prize yet either, but I'm patiently waiting.
I've been expecting a package having to do with work, and wasn't even thinking about prizes when there was someone at my door. I picked up the box and expected to see paperwork in it. But to my surprise, it was my Spellbinders prize!!!
I haven't opened the individual items or looked at the Grand Calibur, the petal box template or the three Edgeabilities. I won't have time to do that until late tonight. I'm so excited to have them! I think they sent me the 3 Edgeabilities that I would have chosen myself, so I'm very happy. I'll plan a little shopping trip to their site to do a little more shopping soon. I am so thankful to Spellbinders and the other vendors and SCS and Lydia and .. and .. Oh, I'm just thankful!
Can't wait to show these tools to the Card Ministry Design Team. Hmm, but I'm going to have to find a work surface to put the Grand Calibur.

How fun that your GC arrived when you weren't expecting it Val.
I must say I'm just expecting my Scrap Mart prize to arrive - I'd forgotten about that!
Glad you had some help with the clean-out, Gail - that sort of job goes easier with two!
It's a lousy night here, I can hear the rain pouring down outside.
V, what a great way to use your wedding dress - much better than hanging in a press. Looks like lovely lace/fabric, too.
How exciting that the prizes are arriving!! Early Christmas presents!!
I haven't heard anything about the Scrapbox yet -- but just knowing that it's coming is exciting! I chose the vanilla raised panel finish. I visit the website all the time to just look at it LOL!
Gail - glad you got the fridge straightened away - what a big, fat drag!
Victoria -- hope you get some rest!!
Val -- Enjoy that GC!!!

Wow! I got my prize box from Hero Arts yesterday. I was amazed at the size of the box and all the goodies inside. What a treat! How do we thank the sponsors who sent us these amazing prizes?

Connie, what a wonderful list of goodies! And so generous of them to increase the amount.
I have not heard from Our Daily Bread yet. Not sure what they plan to do. I was thinking that I would get to "shop" but I'll be happy if they just choose and send. I really, really like so many of their sentiments.
OH MY! That is beautiful!!! It made me sigh because I miss snow so much in Texas. I realize it causes problems, and that car looked like it was stuck in the snow. But aren't the dogs having fun?!

Connie! What a haul! Good for you!!
I bought the Stick 'em up dealie -- and I have to tell you, I love it! It is a stick (aptly named) that you kinda dip in this sticky stuff. You can then use it to pick up all those tiny pieces and adher them to your card. For example, I did some cards tonight that look like a front door - panicked when I couldn't find my stick em up to adher the tiny little door knobs.

I have to tell you, Lee -- I'm a little jealous! You would think since I live next to Canada, we would have some snow in December... but NO! It's 60 degrees!! I am still doing yard work. Let's get a blanket of snow down so I can stay inside and stamp!!!
My husband and neighbors do not share my sentiments. They are all thrilled.

Lee... I do miss the snow experience, even though those who live with it are a bit ho hum... My friend is convinced that it was MY fault it snowed in NJ last Thanksgiving... cos I was there LOL... Of course I took off outside with my camera and ran around the house waving in the windows at them all... while they just thought I was mad LOL...
Here, I have the wonderful aircon on... I bow to whoever invented aircon, and rubber stamps....

I was planning to send Kim a thank-you card. It's made, just go to get it in the post! With a big company like HA I don't know what I'd do, though.

The ODBD is listed as a $50 shopping spree which sounds like a gift cert to me. Kelley is usually very timely in sending out gift certs after blog hops and so on, I'm surprised you haven't heard yet. I'm sure you will soon.
