Hi all -- I've missed you! I hope everyone had a lovely Thanksgiving. We visited both families - had two full Thanksgiving dinners and I am now SO fluffy!! It is very hard for me to resume healthy eating after four days of unadulterated feasting LOL!
I hadn't heard anything about the prize either. Lydia did email me and I let her know what I wanted. I am still walking on air and getting very excited about receiving it. I know it will be so fun to get it all set up.
I did tell both families all about the prize and the prize drawing .. and dd did her impression of me screaming LOL! My nieces and nephews were call me "Aunt Grand Prize Winner"

Good morning all
After somewhat recovering from being up for two days we got our Christmas tree Friday Afternoon then we put it in the house yesterday and decorated it. I changed out the theme of my china cabinet too. Instagram
I work later today so think I might just hang out and do nothing until then.

No picture , I left my camera in the car and anyway I'm camera shy, LOL. But it was really great to meet up; we had a lovely time with Bridget, and I'm sure it won't be the only time we get together!

I'm happy you had a great visit with Bridgit. It's always fun to meet our SCS friends! Pictures would have been nice, but I'm like you... I'd rather be on the business end of a camera.

Maybe you can have a picture next time when I'm not so tired . It's been a stressful week and it was an early start this morning - when I get a twitchy eye I know I'm too tired. I think I'm glad I missed a call that was probably asking me to go in to work tomorrow. Time to relax now with a glass of wine and a Poirot DVD .
JMU won its game yesterday and moves on to the next round of the FCS series playoffs!
That was an awesome game! Of course, my dh was in heaven. Congrats to JMU also!
I have yet to make a Christmas card. I've had plenty of time... looks as though my mojo has taken a vacation... I had some craft time today after church and all I could do was move stuff around on the table. So.. I've had fun looking around here. There sure are some beautiful cards in the gallery.
Glad to hear you got home safely, Sabrina!! It was so great to meet you and your DH - we'll have to do it again for sure! And grin and bear it through a photo, just to keep everybody happy! It was a long day for you, enjoy that wine and DVD!

I'm glad you both had a wonderful time!!! I've enjoyed meeting up with many SCS'ers and have some of my besties now from among them! And some other besties I've still not met IRL yet! Stampers are da bestest!
Hubby and I went to see The Muppets today!!! I love, love, LOVE the Muppets!
Sabrina and Bridget.. so fun that the two of you had the chance to meet. I've only met one other SCS'r.. Monica, hubby-Timbo and kiddos from Hambo. I had the wonderful opportunity to be on the Hambo design team this past summer. I arranged for a Hambo stamp-a-stack night with some of my friends and invited Monica to join us. She came and spent the night at my house and we had such a fantastic time. You can read more about our weekend HERE.
As many here have already said, stampers and in particular SCSr's are the best. I hope to meet many more of you as the opportunity lends itself. I am constantly amazed at the women my age who do not have hobbies.... I can't imagine my life without crafting and stamping in particular. It provides me with an opportunity for creativity that really brings pleasure and a sense of accomplishment to my life, with the added benefit of connecting with others who love to create as well.

YES!!! We're collecting the TV series as they release the seasons...so far only Seasons 1, 2, and 3 are on DVD. LOVE them!!!!
How neat that Sabrina & Bridget had an opportunity to meet & visit. I have met one SCSer, but I met her before knowing she was on SCS. She isn't very active, so I never see her online.
It was great having a long weekend, but I didn't get as much accomplished as I thought I would. Do you think I spend too much time online? Today I finally started making little Christmas gifts for the ladies in my Sunday School class. Of course they each get a hand made card too. One year I made them cloth coaster sets. Last year I made tissue box covers. I had a harder time thinking of an idea for this year, but decided to make them small desk calendars. I've got about 16 made and need a total of about 26-30. It's not much of a gift, but when there are so many people, it's the best I can do. I'm their teacher and they tell me I do enough by preparing the lesson all year long. But they all chip in and buy me a gift, so I like to do some small thing for them too.
The calendars I'm making are similar to this one by StampinSusie
Hey, just had to share, I'm excited - I get to meet Sabrina (Cook22) tomorrow!
Oh how wonderful that you two got a face to face!
I hope you all had a lovely Thanksgiving...
Beverly wash your mouth out, age? LOL LOL we used to have them here to and I loved them each week...
Hey Dini me too!! I managed to get my Cat's Pyjama's $50 voucher last week and then used it on their Black Friday sale, and bought extra of course LOL he he he
Then I saw Unity had a big sale and had to get some of theirs too!!
I cant believe some gals have their tree up already!! I was blessed to experience a real tree last Christmas when I stayed with my friend in south jersey and have the adventure of picking it out and feeding it LOL and the smell! But I caved and bought myself a small TEAL tree at Borders and shipped it home... we don't get the lovely colours or range of deco's that you all get, so I will most likely be the only Australian with a TEAL tree (my fav colour LOL)
Off to work I go. Tomorrow back to the norm. Both kids at school and I'll have a moment of peace.
Hey girl.. just wanted to let you know that I thought about you tonight. I stopped by Target to get a few things before heading home after my class. Hope your job is going well and that your family is adjusting to your not being home. I know it can be stressful for everyone, especially this time of year.
I hit the Dollar Spot pretty hard for classroom items - LOL!!!

anyway lovely read some of the latest adventures
Haha!! Ros... I still feel like I'm in my twenties. I will actually turn 41 around the end of December. I know it isn't THAT old. Having kids later in life has helped me feel younger even though me and my hubby have been married for 19 years. It's not until I mention something like Muppets that reminds me that I'm not actually 20-something. Well, that and my aching knees and arthritis - LOL! Working with small children helps to keep me youthful. I have friends and connect with women of all ages. And who really cares about age.. it's all about attitude. Right?!?
....and did I mention that I had to wash my mouth out with soap quite a bit as a kid. LOL! Can't help it.
So thankful to be home after 10+ hours in the car today with the last 4 in rain! Had a nice time with family over the weekend and with my daughter's boyfriend's family last night. Very good to be home!
So cool that Sabrina and Bridget had some face-to-face time! Hoping it will fit in with my Ireland trip to have coffee with Sabrina. That would be my first meeting with a splitcoast friend. Well, should be unpacking and heading to bed! Night all.

@ Bev, less of this age thing from me too! We didn't get television till I was in my mid teens, and then it was never just on - we'd sit down and watch specific programmes. The Muppets were one of the things we did watch, most definitely. I always liked Rolf. DH wants an Animal sweater - I have several Muppet designs - but somehow I can't quite see him wearing it and don't want to put the work into it for it just to sit in the press. He also printed out a screen shot of Waldorf and Statler recently and pinned it to the chair of a guy in work who's always grumbling about things .
Glad you got back safely from all the driving, Gail - the rain definitely makes it more tiring. And since it's hard to drive much more than 4 hours in any direction in Ireland, I just can't imagine the distances some of you drive! 15 hours for PH, 10 for Gail.
We went to the movie Friday with our family of 8 and my brother's family of 5. We ALL loved it. My kids watched the previous Muppet Movies and loved them (they were disappointed that Rizzo the Rat didn't show up much in this one!) and I watched the show as a girl. It is fun to have something that the whole family will watch. My teenage daughter showed her surly teenage colors more than once on the trip and it wasn't pretty, so having moments of agreement and fun with the whole group was extra special.
It is hard to imagine living somewhere that small in area! With my husband in the Navy for 25 years, we had always lived 16 hours from one of our families at each place we lived and were still about 10 hours from the other family! My kids travel really well, because that is what they're accustomed to, but it is so nice to be closer to my parents now...especially as my mom continues her breast cancer battle. Her last radiation should be the 9th and my oldest daughter and I are going to go out for a celebration day!
Hi all --
Just checking in - my house looks like someone shook it REAL hard and all the Christmas decorations fell on the floor LOL! Guess what I'll be doing today?
I just finished 40 party invites for our neighborhood Christmas party. I cut out little stockings on my cricut & made a pull-out tag that slipped into the stocking for the text. I kept them simple but they came out cute. And they will be going to mostly non-stampers - most of whom think anything handmade is close to miraculous! LOL!
Trees are up - love it!!

Hey thanks for thinking of me. I think overall the kids are alright with me being gone. There are some tears wishing for mommy just as there are during the day hoping daddy were home. This week I'm working every night but Friday. I have a mid day shift Saturday. It's exhausting just thinking about it. But the check at the end will be nice.
we got the Christmas tree up, although it's a bit sparse. I wasn't willing to put a lot on it with a 2 yo climbing menace running around I bought DS his ornament for this year.. Buzz and Woody in a stocking. He promptly beheaded them both Oi vey!
Lights are up outside as well... so we made progress!
Yesterday I made myself a tree skirt for our Christmas tree for years to come. IT's the skirt from my wedding dress
Here's a link to a pic Instagram
Gorgeous!
So, remember the fire in my kitchen the day I drove back from Chicago in rain with wonky wipers then night before we left for our Thanksgiving trip? Well, we had known that the power was out to the outlets to the left of the stove and the range hood, but did anyone in my family of 8 notice that the refrigerator was on the same circuit???? No such luck....so today, after arriving home last night after our 12 hour drive home I'm dealing with refrigerator disaster AKA fire mess round 2! I've been weeping and tossing and cooking what can be saved and I'm a total wreck. I'm going to treat myself to some ink therapy later this afternoon!!!!
