Hi to everyone on this blustery day from Southeastern Ct. I just wanted to say how much I appreciate this site! My family and I (includes 6 of our 7 grandchildren) are new to the world of papercrafting. We have so many family members, friends, acquaitances who either have serious health problems or just problems in general that warrant encouragement. We feel that this is a great way to introduce our young ones to sharing and caring for those who are down, giving them a piece of their imaginaton and a reason to smile. We've been building up our supplies and knowledge of cardmaking, etc. This site will help us to this end immensely. I'm looking forward to sharing and gleaning valuable information from those who are much more proficient in the papercrafters world. Kudos and :pThanks Splitcoaststampers!

Thank you the warm welcome! Any suggestions are most welcome. Cardmaking is now a family event and as I mentioned, even our grandchildren participate. They range from 13- 3 yrs. They make cards for those who are sick and those who need to know that someone cares. They do very well in their designs and they include their favorite scripture from the Bible. We've have received do much positive feedback from the recipients.
They just love the innocence of the details and the fact that they are thought of. In turn it's a valuable lesson in showing loving kindness and concern for others. So if you have any techniques or any online papercrafting supply company you'd like to share, we would welcome your comments

Thanks again!!

Welcome from Australia I love this place - my little home away from home - and I am sure you will love it too. Lots of inspiration and lots of new friends to meet. As a carer for just over a year for a sick family member, I can tell you how much cards are appreciated right along the journey, from the diagnosis through treatment and beyond. And just a note of encouragement for the carers too can really help because illness and caring can be very socially isolating.

Have a look at the tutorials here too. They have step-by-step photos and many have videos for the visual learner. I have learned so much since joining a couple of years ago and had lots of help from seasoned cardmakers when I have been stuck and not known what to do.

Heart many thanks go the warm welcomr

Hi from Connecticut! Thanks for your warm welcome. I too am a caregiver for disabled family members. I wholeheartedly agree that the gift giving of handmade cards brings so much joy, not only for the recipient, but the maker as well. It's as the Bible says "there more happiness in giving than there is in receiving" Acts 20:35
I love this place because of all it has to offer. Hopefully I in turn will have something to offer back in return.
