Hmmmmm....... bought these tomatoes of a variety that claims to be "world's best cooking tomato". I tried one raw, sprinkled with salt and it was quite tasteless, so I sure hope cooking brings out their flavour. They are currently roasting in the oven with some olive oil. If that doesn't improve the flavour, guess they will be going in the bin & I will know not to buy them again.
the problem is they picked it before it was ripe ( which ripening on the plant is what brings out the flavor) to be able to get it to the store with less damage to the fruit so then it got sprayed with ripening agent to become red even though it was not ripe...
