20 Embarrassingly Bad Book Covers for Classic Novels ? Flavorwire

The Scarlet Pimpernel is particularly hilarious.

Warning, there are a couple of pictures that are a bit um... questionable.
Really, except for the last two - which are not all that horrible, they are at least related to the story in question somewhat - they are all bad. I had seen the Anne of Green Gables one before. IMO, Huckleberry Finn, the Princess Bride & Frankenstein are particularly bad. Though I will agree, the Scarlet Pimpernel is so ridiculous and so far off the actual content. One of my all time favourite novels though. And though I've seen the black & white version of the movie - and it is much more true to the book (which is something movies generally don't do and is a pet peeve of mine), I actually prefer the 1984 version with Jane Seymour (though it bugs me a little that the ending deviates so far from the book as to be almost ridiculous).
