My younger daughter away at school always liked when I included cards that I made. Ones especially for her. Or ones she could give to someone else (Thank you, Thinking of You, Birthday ). Granola bars, dried fruit/trail mix, Sponge Candy,Holiday Peeps. Magazines , Paper back books, Gift card for certain stores (Walmart, Starbucks), Microwave Popcorn. I always tried to package them up cutely. If she likes certain coffee send her some. If she liked a certain makeup or things for her hair. I always include a note (to keep and read when life is stressful) to let her know how much I love and miss her. How proud I am of her and how she's managing things at school. If your student is a guy you can still send alot of the same things. Maybe a gift card to eat at a certain restaurant instead of Dinning Hall food. Or if he's in a big city tickets for an event/sports.
Hope that gives you some ideas.

Great ideas.

His mandatory meal plan means that they pretty much have all the food they want including junk so it really limits things for me! Indeed at Christmas he brought food home!!!

When I was in school I would have snapped someone's hand off for a box of food/snacks! Oh how times have changed.

I'm not going to stress too much as we will be seeing him at the end of that week but just wanted to pop something in the post... though I like the restaurant idea, especially as he has a girlfriend now. Might just give him the universal gift card (cash) LOL! and try to package it cute.

I'm glad I had some ideas that were helpful. Keep us posted on what you do for your college student.

Default Bunny Money

I'm giving Bunny Money as several Easter gifts this year. Money is something college kids can always use. It can go flat in an envelope or be tucked inside a plastic egg.

In the end I sent a small flat rate box with jelly beans, small chocolate bunnies, chocolate eggs, silly putty and an Easter Card that took far longer to make than it looks like!!!

We are seeing him at the end of next week and I'm sure money will be given at that point. Thanks for the ideas though!
