CTMH Alcohol Markers??
Hi! I'm going to a CTMH party this weekend and as I was browsing through the online catalog I noticed that they have alcohol markers now, 2 coordinating colors for $5.95, I think. Does anyone have these and can tell me about them? What type of tips they have - how do they compare to others on the market, etc. Thanks for your help!
Of course I am planning on asking the consultant, but I was hoping to get other people's opinions as well, instead of just the person that wants me to buy them! ;-)

Amanda, as much as I like CTMH products, I have not yet seen their alcohol markers. I have my Copics, which cost more than that for one marker. Hopefully you will get the chance to play with a couple at the party. I am curious now! Time to email my CTMH consultant.

I have tried them. I do not like them as much as my copics.
I usually use copic sketch or ciao. The nibs on the CTMH are both pretty firm. I don't remember if they are both bullet (but different sizes) or if one is a bullet and one a brush, but they're not nearly as nice as the copic brush nibs.
Now, if you have some images that you love to color but they have very fine areas that you have a hard time getting, you might like the CTMH for that. (I have one or two copic originals in some select colors so that I can have the bullet nib on those, like a green for very fine stem areas.) The CTMH markers are cheaper for a pair than a single CTMH original marker.
IMO, the CTMH don't blend as nicely. Also they're supposed to be paired-- the CTMH color plus a lighter or a darker blend. There's really no rhyme or reason to how they decided which colors would get a darker match and which a lighter match but it doesn't really matter because in the color pairs I played with, I had a really hard time distinguishing one shade from the other.
I also think the colored tips are deceptive. They are on copics, too, but copic's numbering is at least supposed to make sense. I couldn't really get any spectrum of colors with the CTMH. If the colors in each pair were more distinct, it wouldn't matter so match, but no pair really matches any other pair, so shading/blending was tough.

Thanks so much for your responses! It is helpful to know that they must be pretty new, and what the tips are like. I didn't even think about blending with the random colors... I have some Spectrum Noirs, so the bullet tips are probably what I'm used to. I hope I get to play with some tonight!

No, I didn't get to play with them! I am apparently illiterate and the party was actually Creative Memories!! My only excuse for being that dumb is I have a cold and the cold medicine must have made my eyes go buggy or something. LOL. Now I'm going to have to have my own CTMH party to get to play with the markers!

Oh Amanda~~That is so something I would do! (At least you have the excuse of cold and cold medicine!) But I did order a few of the colors, so when I get them and have a chance to play, I will give you my thoughts. It is rainy and dreary here today, but your reply just brightened the day!
