I am becoming less and less enamored of the new SU pads. I have about a dozen of them, and I sort of doubt I'll be buying any more. I've got all the colors in spots, and still find myself using them over the new pads for some things.
What is your favorite dye ink? I know many love the SU pads, but I find them too wet. I'm always having to blot them down.
Love to hear about your opinion of other brands. I have several Memento pads, but only in neutrals. I have never used any of the colors.
I have not tried Adirondack.
I tried a few PTI pads and they were okay, but I wasn't really blown away. The best thing about PTI is the colors they have, which are to my eye very developed and interesting.
So? What do others think?

Adirondack is my "go to" dye ink for stamping. I love Distress too but use that more for sponging, brayering etc. I've always had good results from Adirondack with both rubber and (high quality) clear stamps. Great range of colurs, reinkers available if that's important to you and I like the pad design, it feels quite sturdy and I've never had any issues with anything like cracked lids or detaching pads.

I use the Tuxedo Black all the time. But I do find the few others I have (a brown, a gray and a deep purple) a bit dry. Maybe it's my pads.

i like different ones, lately i just love the MFT inks, they give wonderful and sharp coverage, especially their black one, i have many black ones from different companies and i like their's. I also like distress inks and some momentos that i have.
I have two sets of dye inks, SU! and Distress, but if I had to do it over I'd go for a full set of Adirondak instead of the SU!. The colour selection is nice but I also like the design of the case which is easy to hold and more compact than the SU! ones. The Adirondak colour line also comes in coordinating paint daubers, pigment inks and alcohol inks.

Here is a second vote for MFT. They are colorbox ink pads and are awesome. I used Jellybean Green on my Christmas cards and was able to emboss this color and I loved the way it looked.

I bought one colorbox dye ink in a shade of blue. There is no cleaning my stamp. Do you find the MFT inks are staining your clear stamps?

There are lots of projects using Adirondack in my gallery but this card is probably a good indicator of the coverage quality. I used a small acrylic block to make the colour blocks on this card just by pressing the block onto the inkpad, spritzing very lightly with water and stamping onto the card. You can also see that for these colours at least, bleaching works well - the starfish were stamped with an ink that doesn't react to bleach (Versafine in this case) and then painted with bleach to take out the dye ink colour in those areas.
Most of the palette is stable with water but one interesting and useful exception is Stonewashed. It's a lovely shade of blue in any case but it breaks down to give purplish lowlights if you water colour with it - perfect for sky washes! (example attached - that's a single blue round the lions, no mixing of ink colours).
Although it's not pitched in the same way as Distress, I've found that Adirondack stays wet long enough that you can emboss it, too. Work quickly and use detail embossing powder and it will stick just fine.
Two lovely cards and a nice showcase of the ink, Joanne. I think I'm going to order some Adirondack pads to play with.
Emily - Colorbox Fluid Chalk Inks stain clears badly. I know because I love them myself. But I don't use them with my clears, with one exception: When I stamp index sheets for my clears, I purposely stamp the sentiments with it. So that they stain and I can read them more easily.

I ordered some Adirondacks. Very excited get them and play around with them. Such nice colors.
I also ordered some Versamagic. Just to see how different it was from Colorbox chalk ink. Which I heard was being phased out, and I hope heard wrong. But you can't find reinkers for the pads anywhere, which makes me wonder. You see them online, only a few colors here and a few there. Weird.

I think you will love the Versamagic chalk ink! I have several colors - all scrumptious!
And I have some of the Adirondacks - love them too!
I'm very lucky to be near a stamp store called "Enchanted Cottage". The first time I walked in there, I thought I'd died and gone to stamper's heaven. One of the best things about this store is that they have reinkers for all the inkpads they sell.
That and the fact that they carry ALL the Memory Box and poppystamp dies.

I got my inks from Blockheads. I love them, they are an awesome vendor. When I placed my ink order online, I accidentally ordered 2 of one color and they CALLED ME to make sure it wasn't a mistake. Which it was, which they corrected for me. Now that is customer service.

The green is the only color I have and my stamp is a little stained, but my SU ink stained my MFT stamps. Maybe clear stamps are more prone to staining?
