I'm just looking for everyone's helpful opinion. I've been buying my printed CS individually at Michael's and A.C. Moore. That's growing very tiresome since it's always the same old selection. I hate the expense of buying the books when there's only a few prints in them I like since I don't make a multitude of cards. SU catches my eye now and then but I have never taken the leap and bought because of getting stuck with unwanted prints. Do most of you just bite the dust and buy the books and SU knowing you won't use all the printed CS? Do you know of an online seller with individual prints for sale? Your suggestions would be appreciated.
Do you want it specifically to be cardstock weight? I don't think Stampin' Up has printed cardstock, just lighter weight paper. And if you're just looking to buy paper by the sheet, there are lots of places to shop.
I like A Cherry on Top. Any place that caters to scrapbookers, though, is likely to have paper by the sheet.

I mostly buy pads - if there are a few designs I don't like, they'll get used for something or other. When it's 12x12, unwanted sheets are great for envelopes.
My favourite by far is Basic Grey. I like October Afternoon and have bought some Echo Park. KaiserCraft also do some lovely stuff.
I'm guessing it is designer paper that you're wanting. My suggestion would be to find a friend and some mutually desired paper packs and share them. As with so many things, one person's trash is another's treasure.

You might check out the 6" x 6" paper pads. They have smaller prints that are suitable for cards, and they are reasonably priced. Here are some examples at Overstock.com:

I, too, have lots of the big pads of 12 x 12 paper. The patterns that I don't use for cards, I make envelopes with. I put the patterns inside and the white outside. Even a pretty atrocious pattern looks pretty good inside an envelope!

I use SU, so when new stuff comes along I look for a demo who does a Designer Series paper share, some of them do 6 x 6, which is great for me because I really don't use alot of DSP when making cards. Of course, if you are doing scrapbook pages, this will not help you at all.
I thnk Close to My Heart has wonderful designer paper packs. What I don't use for scrapbooking I use for making cards. They have some very pretty packs as well as some more masculine or for kids. I am not a CTMH rep ....but do like their products and their prices. I buy from any company that has something I like.

My apologies, I didn't make myself clear. I am looking for printed paper, 12x12 or 8.5x11, to use for my cards. Paper with attractive prints and sold individually in sheets just for paper crafts,cards or scrap booking. I'm not concerned about the weight. Like I said I'm tired of buying Michael's printed sheets. I'm very much aware of SU DSP. But, WHO ELSE has attractive DSP that I can buy online? I live in a beach resort. All we have is a Michael's and the pickin's have become slim for me. It's a small store and they never bring in new single sheet, printed paper designs for paper crafts. I don't care for and I'm trying to avoid the Michael's big books of CS regardless of their paper size.
If you want single sheets, try Frantic Stamper (Scrapbook Supplies, Rubber Stamping & More - Frantic Stamper). She sells single 12x12 sheets from a wide range of companies. If you search by product, rather than manufacturer, you should bring it up quite easily in the search.

I really like October Afternoons designs, although I have yet to buy any of their paper. I like Echo Park also! If anyone lives near Hobby Lobby they carry Echo Park for $20 or $10 with a coupon. I'm going to check out Basic Grey.

P.S. Kathlyn, I recommend getting dual-sided 12x12 cardstocks. I thought that I didn't care about the weight and size, however you can make A LOT of boxes and other cool things with these cardstocks.

A lot of manufacturers also sell directly from their websites. Basic Grey , American Crafts , and Studio Calico are the ones I can think of off the top of my head, but I bet your favorite manufacturers sell online too!

I am new to cardmaking and have been collecting papers like your looking for. Go to Scrapbook.com you can get buy 3 get 1 free in the clearance tab. Also the clearance paper is gorgeous and runs (guessing) .55 per sheet and up. I just bought many and received them the other day, they are beautiful. Nice pics up to see the patterns and colors there also. They ship pretty fast too.

You'll find most people on this thread use DSP since its a "Stampin Up thing", but most other boards you go to refer to it as pp (patterned paper). It took me a while to figure out what everyone meant when they were talking about all this dsp when all I wanted was pp.
