Having just received my honeycomb embossing folder, I have been looking on e-bay for the Creative Memories mini hexagon punch. I was not quite willing to pay the price that they are now going for. I have just discovered a solution. If you have the Cricut Expression, and have the Accent Essentials cartridge all you have to do is go to Accent 45( the 5th image on the last row). Use Real Dial Size , set size at 3/4" and the shift key.
The result is a perfect fit for inside the honeycomb. I am so excited, aside from saving me a lot of money, I can use my paper scraps and cut as many as I want.
There possibly are other cartridges that have the same hexagon shape. This happens to be the only one I have.
I was really surprised that SU didn't come out with a matching punch. It sure looked like they were using one in the sample pix in the mini with the dp hexagons inside their embossing (page 3 and 16 for example)
I was wondering, and haven't tried this yet, if making a tight sandwich with a piece of dp in the honeycomb wouldn't cut through the paper and create the shape. I will have to try this soon.
The George cartridge also has a hexagon shape (same button as the letter 'P'). Wonder if it would work? My Honeycomb folder is yet to arrive so can't try.
OMG!!! Thanks so much for that tip! I have that cartridge and a Cricut. I get my new Honeycomb embossing folder at stamp club next weekend. I was not looking forward to cutting out all those little hexagons! You have saved us all a ton of work! You rock!

this method does work. but still hoping for a punch or die in the next catalog!
Taylored Expressions has a small hexagon die set and so does My Favorite Things, I own the TE one and it is small, I plan on ordering the one from Mft, it is much larger. Good luck!

I am loving this thread. I have the PTI hexagon impression plate that cuts out little hexagon shapes. They don't fit perfectly in the SU honeycomb EF but close enough. Here is what it looks like:
Sorry about the bad info re the George cartridge. No wonder I wasn't good at geometry!
A die that would make multiple hexagon cut images would be awesome. One of the online stores has a hexagon stax - Taylored Expressions? Only thing about a set of Multi-size images, you can only cut one shape at a time. The TE(?) hexagon stax - the smallest hex is 3/4" so sounds like that would work for the SU honeycomb but you can only cut one at a time.
I own the spellbinders hexagon nestabilities. The smallest die fits perfectly on the back of the su! hexagons ef, but not the front. I also own mft's open hexagon border die-namics, but it's not a regular hexagon. It's a little longer. In the attached photo, the lavender die cut is a nestie, and the orange one is the mft.

A hex punch in the new catty wouldn't surprise me. They did a big butterfly punch when the butterfly set came out and the small butterfly punch came out this spring.
I have the CM punch, but I have also been known to run DP thru the folder, then just cut the hexagons out on the inside edge of the embossed lines. Since the cuts are so short it's really hard to mess it up!
