I searched far and wide for alphabet punches wanting the letters to be no smaller than about an inch and finally settled on the Sizzix strip dies that have the entire alphabet on it. My favorite one is Easy Peasy.

I have the alphabet dies by Papertrey Ink. I like them a lot, and they work well in my Cuttlebug. The letters are 1/2" x 3/4". You can get them in upper and lower case. The size works well for cards.

Like Leeann I have the Sizzix strip die ones - little letters that are a great size for cards. I have the Typeset one as the style is quite versatile but there are lots of different fonts. They're here on the Sizzix site (some have both upper and lower case, some are just upper case with slightly bigger letters).

I've attached a card (5" square) and a postcard (4" x 6") with Typeset lettering on them so you can see how the size works out.

I am a Papertrey Ink girl too. Also check out My Favorite Things alphas...They are wonderful as well. I use them both in my Cuttlebug, Big Shot and Vagabond. Hero Arts has a new release set too. I hope I can find those to try out. I really like the font.

Too funny, when I clicked on this, I expected to see alphabet STAMPSETS, not dies! I LOVE the 'E' size alphabets from Close to My Heart for titles on pages!

Another thought for those of you that use diecuts...use a combination of alphabet stampsets and dies for your titles, adds interest to your pages! I do it a LOT with Cricut cuts, using the stamp set for the 'small words' of the title, and the cuts for the words I think are the important part of the title.

Memory Box have a range of dies that are quite affordable, even if you have to purchase both upper and lower case. They're a good size of card making.

oh my gosh, I should have thought all of this through before posting! Something that I have done to make it easier to see what I have: cut or stamp 2 or 3 letters of each alpha/shape that you have and put on a poster board. I then have my dies arranged by color?brand and have a number or letter next to the slot. That number/letter goes next to the shape/alpha on the board, makes it EASY to find

I love the Stampin'up typeset Bigz. They have seemed to illuminate my cards into a new light or sphere. Mary Gene

I have a "few" (ahem lots) of the original Sizzix alphabet sets that came in sizzlets - one per sizzlet - gave background and uppper/lower case on them. I used to sit in front of the tv and "punch" out several each of the more popular letters in various colors/paper prints to have on hand in a pinch. They do come in handy.

The Memory Box are my favorite. They bunch nice and clean are the perfect size for card making. I have several sets from Sizzlets but think that punching one letter at a time is a nuisance. Plus the letters seem a little too big for cards.

What's an alphabet "strip" die since I'm interested in buying my first set of alphabet dies. I couldn't tell by the photos on the Sizzix link.

As the name suggests, it's a long skinny die (a strip) with everything on the one die. I've lifted the picture of the die itself from the Sizzix site and attached it here.

Ideally you need the platform and plates that match the shape of the die (it is possible to use the regular Big Shot platform and do it in a couple of goes but it's a heck of a fiddle).

HTH!

Lawn Fawn stamps has really nice alphabet stamps and they are releasing a new die set that will match one of their alphabets
