I have both. My first ATG died, so I went to the glueglider. Now I have a replacement ATG, which I use for heavy work. The glueglider is my quick-to-stick tool for lighter needs. It's easy to keep handy, whereas the ATG lives in a recess in my desk & has to be reached for.

If I could have only one, I would go with the ATG.

Definitely the ATG. I have the glueglider and love how easy it is to change the tape, but I don't actually like the tape itself.

Have not tried the glue glider but could not imagine being without my ATG! Seriously! Love it! So easy to use and it holds! I've tried glue sticks, various glues, the Tombow mono and the ATG is my all time fave!

There both good Tape runner's. It just depends how much you use your tape runner's.

I really like the Glue Glider pro. Cause it's lighter to hold and doesn't take up much space.

And the refills are priced pretty good.

Love, love, love, my glue glider pro! I have tried 2 different times to use an ATG and it just isn't for me. To big for me, needs more space to store and also wasn't easy for me to change the tape roll! I know that I'm in the minority of this and most people prefer the ATG, but not me! When I have to get a refill for it I wait for a 50% off coupon and then buy it at AC Moore!

I own both. I started with the ATG and love it. This is the best value for adhesive. Now the bad part....awkward to use and refill. With practice it gets easier. Then I bought the Glue Glider Pro at a Scrapbook Expo because it would be so much easier to take with me when I go to my friend's home to craft. I reach for this before the ATG mostly because it's always out and handy.....it's just so much smaller that I leave it on my desk and take it places with me....and it is so incredibly easy to refill. Here's the big "BUT"....the tape is so much more expensive than the ATG when you do the math....and it doesn't hold as much as the ATG. Neither one is perfect and both are really good.

Glue Glider- The pros are it's small & lightweight. The newer cartridges swivel so you can add glue in those hard to glue areas. You can turn the cartridge around when not in use to protect the tape. Con's the tape is expensive. You don't get a lot. The cartridges are not refillable. There was a thread here years ago where a lady actually was using ATG tape in her GGP. She never gave a tutorial. She just said she wind the tape on the GGP cartridge.

ATG- Pros- the tape is the best bang for the buck. You get three times of tape on a roll over the Glue Glider Pro. Great for large projects. Con's- The gun itself is huge but lightweight. There is a learning curve. It can be hard to load. The tape is exposed when the gun is not in use.

I use the ATG tape without the gun. It's just easier for me. For a runner I prefer the Glue Glider. I would use that all the time if the cartridges were refillable and the tape was more economical.

I have both. My only problem with the Glue Glider Pro is the inconsistency with the tape refills. Some refills are great and some don't work at all. ATG gets my vote because of this.

I started with the GGP, then went to the ATG. You can learn to use it 1-2-3.

Visiting grand kids...nursery rhymes all weekend!

Seriously, depending on how much tape you'll be using, the ATG gets much more bang for the buck. It is awkward at first if your used to using something smaller, but that goes away very quickly. I have two. One for acid free, the other holds the general purpose tape.

I had a GGP and it always got hard to use when the refill was half used up. It was light and easy to hold and stored easily, but the refills were spendy and weren't available anywhere locally. I just found it awkward to use when it wouldn't glide smoothly and I too wasn't all that happy with the adhesives for it.

Now I have the pink ATG and get the 60 yard 3M refills from Framing Supplies. The refills aren't acid-free, but as a card maker that isn't as important to me. It is large, but not heavy and I store it in a deep bottom drawer at my work area.

I have the ATG did consider getting the GGP too because it is smaller but thank goodness I checked on the price of refils before I did. At the time they were double the price of ATG'S and now that Micheals carries them you can use a coupon and really get a good deal on refills when they are available. Not to mention that I just LOVE my ATG gun. JMO and my pocketbook here. May you make the best choice for you.!!

I have both. I got the GGP because i have small hands and thought it would be a better fit for me (literally) but I was given an ATG as a Christmas present last year and I like it much better. As many people have mentioned, the refills are more economical and I prefer the tape itself.

Had both, but just have the ATG now. I got the GGP as a backup and for DD to use. I think it lasted about a month before we were both so frustrated with it that we threw it away. It kept jamming up, wouldn't work, etc. The ATG was so much easier to use, as well as much more economical to use.

FWIW, I have tiny hands - I wear kids sized gloves. I have had no issues with the ATG.

I have tiny hands too and I have no problems holding the ATG . I am also a leftie but I do hold the ATG with my right hand. I am ambidextrous.

another hearty ATG fan! I've had mine for more than 5 years and it's been my happiest non-pretty investment I've made. And my neighbor and I split boxes of the adhesive rolls for even more savings (though they last a long time).

If anyone is interested in buying an ATG gun, they have the pink one at Overstock. On sale now for $23.01, with 2 tape refills. And I think their shipping is reasonable, only $2.99.

ATG all the way. The GG tape didn't stick well for me, and the refills are very expensive. I can get ATG refills for $2 each (30 yards, I believe).

ATG for sure! Even with small hands and arthritis, it's way better both costwise and 'sticking' wise! Once you get the hang of it, you'll not go back to the other adhesive systems. Just doing a large order for wedding invites, save the date and response cards, 150 of each and there's no way I could have done this without my ATG. I would have been forever changing the tape apart frrom having spent a fortune!!

Love my ATG. Was afraid it would be awkward to use but I got used to it. I prefer the general use tape rather than the archival. The archival tape I bought had a strong odor and didn't really hold as well as the general use. I will always reach for my ATG when making my holiday cards, don't want to risk layers coming apart when sending to family and friends. And I use it any time I think the taping together might be "tricky" like when I have a textured, embossed layer to attach or I am attaching ribbon or an embellishment made from chipboard.

I do confess to also having a Scotch brand dot tape runner in my tool box as well. It is much smaller and sometimes just easier and faster to use, it is the size and shape of the other Tombow "snail" adhesive runners. I prefer the "dot" version as that seems to hold better and doesn't get gunky or jam up on me. The refills are reasonable in cost because I always, always buy them with a 40 or 50% off coupon. Since I don't use it for everything I make two cartridges last me a long time.

But if choosing between ATG or Glue Glider, I would go with ATG. It has a great track record as far as holding your layers together, and the refills can be bought at a great savings.

I also have both, in fact somewhere around here is a red ATG gun that I never got the tape loaded in correctly. I gave the ATG up and bought the GG. I liked it, but again, if you use lots of adhesive it gets prcey.

Eventually bought the pink ATG and tried again. This time I watched a video of loading the tape with the gun open in front of me. That worked and I now use the ATG most of the time.

I'll use the GG for stamp club because it's smaller and takes up less room in my travel bag, but otherwise I do prefer the ATG.

Heart ATG!

I have loved my ATG for years now.
Love the very high-tack (stickiness).
Love the economical refills. I have periodically checked over the years as to the continued cost-effectiveness, and it still holds up to whatever competition I've been interested in comparing. ;)
I doubt that I would never be interested in paying for the GG refills.

I have both, like the GGP, love my ATG. Even using 40% off coupons the GGP refills are more expensive than the big roll of atg tape. After a few times using the ATG, I didn't even notice the size of the gun. I thought since I have small hands it might be an issue for me, but it isn't. Reach for the atg all the time and save the GGP for grandgirls.

Every time this comes up I get nervous. I'm still using SNAIL, so all my card are going to come to pieces. I have one of the ATG guns saved in my Amazon shopping cart and keep putting it in and taking it out. It just seems so big. And I've heard the tape smells.

I buy the 3M refills ... not even the 'Gold' (recommended for scrapping) ... and have never noticed an odor. ;)

I will add that years ago when I swapped a lot, we were still using the mono. I was often saddened by the wonderful cards that I would need to repair/re-adhere when I had just received them. Of course, we were being advised to use very small amounts of mono for our cards at that time as well. Also, I stopped scrimping so much on adhesive once I moved on to the more cost-effective ATG refills. ;)

I have both and the tape in the Glue Glider Pro kept breaking for me, so I didn't like it very much. I have never had any issues with the ATG - it just took a little getting used to the size

RachelRose- I have really small hands. I can fit my hand all the way in a Pringles can. I can hold my ATG just fine. It's not uncomfortable at all.

I heard the Gold tape smells like you want to move out of your house and never come back. I use the 3M tape that is sold at Michael's, HL, JoAnn's. The tape that goes with the pink gun. It does not smell at all.
I am very happy with it.

I do use my ATG tape without the gun. The gun does come in handy for large projects. ATG tape is my favorite dry adhesive.

I have a "super sniffer" and have never smelled anything funny with the regular 3M or Tape Depot refills. LOVE the 3M refills from framingsupplies.com the best!

So it's the Gold tape I want to avoid for the strong odor? Is that the acid -free? Because the pink gun on Amazon comes with two rolls of tape, but the box says they are acid free. So maybe I would need to buy some rolls of the other stuff right away.

The atg is too big and heavy for me. I have to get hubby to keep fixing it. I'd like to try the glider gun. Does Michael's carry it? I have small hands and arthritis, so looking to buy a smaller tape gun.
