Challenge Title: It’s Not Hard to Resist
Hostess: Jeanne S
Keyword: MIX2
Hello and welcome to the Mix-Ability challenge here on Splitcoast! Our goal is to make mixed media, easy, approachable and FUN! We want to convince you that no matter what your style is - you can DO it!
Your projects can be any type – cards, scrapbook layouts, art journal projects, 3D pages.
My challenge today is a technique that you may have already done! It uses the Embossing Resist technique that can be found in the Splitcoast Resources section --> HERE
After heat embossing you can use any of the following mediums to color your image or background:
Dye based ink sprays
Dye based ink refills diluted with water
Dye based inks and sponges
Watercolors
Acrylic Paint (Acrylic resist tutorial here)
Stamps and dye ink stamped multiple times (full coverage over image)
Or a combination of any of the above!
Uploading: Remember the keyword is without spaces. Use a comma between keywords with a space after each comma.
If you are new to the challenges, please feel free to do this one or ANY of the challenges at any time. There is no time limit. They are not races to see who can do one first, nor are they contests of any sort. All the challenges are simply to provide inspiration and to get us stamping!

One "benefit" of being sick is you wake up at 3AM and can't go back to sleep, so what's a girl to do??? The NEW Mixability challenge, of course!!!
Here is my TAG, and my Book Page.
__________________ Hi, my name is Michelle Single, and I'm a craft addict. Check out my Caffeine & Stamps blog. I Know How to Use It - do you?? Come play with us every Thursday!
I'm trying to mix it up with Mix-Ability every Friday (little behind!)
i just invented a technique that does NOT work I used Ranger acryllic pearl paint dauber (like Beate's video), and then somehow I had it in my head I needed to add clear embossing powder. EPIC FAIL.
I think I need to done one technique or the other, but not combine them. EITHER Versamark plus EP.... OR acryllic paint on its own.
The other thing I tried was the new illuminarte pigment pad from SU! (because I can't just find my Versamark pad right now) - and I used that with these pan pastels I have been wanting to try. It turned out ok, not great.
Thanks for the encouragement to play. I am first just trying a combo of products on different tags. When I find a combo I like, I'll hopefully design something. OR I'll just put these in my art journal.
Either way, I only gave myself until 8:30 to play today. Now it is upstairs to work.
Love what you guys are doing out there in the gallery.
It's only the second Mix challenge and I am thoroughly challenged to get out of my comfort zone - again!!!
I've looked through the gorgeous gallery and picked up a few ideas of how I might join in at my basic skill level. I hope to be back later with something to post. Right now, I'm thinking acrylic paints ...
This was my first time joining this challenge, and I think I will definitely be back! I went an easy way for coloring -- sponging and distress inks. Here's my card:
