Default help with ribbon styles

I buy ribbon like it's going out of style. I love it. I buy 3/8 & 5/8 and 1" wide. Stitched, non stitched, gorsgrain, organza... ahhh I'm in heaven.
What is your favorite ribbon type to use and why? I find that I can't tie a knot in my 5/8" to lay flat and my knot always seems a bit chunky on my 3/8". am I tying it too tight? Should I be adding adheasive under it so it doesn't unravel? I want to use it properly.

I love seam binding. It is soft, easy to work with, not too bulky & can be easily crumpled for a whole other look.

I'm like you, I collect ribbon. Have a ton of it, all different types and different width (1/4", 3/8", 1/2" 3/4" 7/8"), satin, grosgrain, stitched, organza... you name it.
I don't know of I have a favourite per say but I do enjoy working with plain old twill tape.
It's got a natural rustic look and it's great to stamp sentiments on.

I often use glue dots on ribbon. Have you tried that? After wasting money on some "bargain" ribbon, I discovered that cheap isn't always a good thing. I really like ribbon to have some body so that it will tie and fold well. I also like any print to be double sided. I do occasionally buy some from the big box stores, but I prefer SU because it is always good quality and the colors match my papers and inks. Close to My Heart and some of the other main line companies make great ribbon too. Many of the main line companies have good quality ribbon, like Close to My Heart, A Muse Studio, My Favorite things or in the box stores Offray ribbon.

I have drawer full of ribbon, but I have been using it less and less. These days if I use ribbon, it is usually seam binding for the reasons mentioned above.

You know, just the other day I told myself that I have plenty of ribbon. Well.... there is this pretty pink pleated ribbon on the SU Clearance Rack for only a dollar something. I have some orders going in next week and man, how can I not get it at that price? I have the same thing in blue and it's gorgeous. big sigh! How much ribbon does one girl really need?

I love 1/4 grosgrain, it is my go to all the time. I am also into the seam binding for making the multi loop bows for the softer look. wider stuff and thinner stuff does not work me me.

Binding and Twine. Hands down, what I use the most!!! Binding ties nicely and twine is great for wrapping around....well, anything!!!!

I love satin ribbon and seam binding hates me! ;). I also use reg. and narrow taffeta lots. I have to have ribbon on every card....except guy cards.

I used to use lots of grosgrain, but not any more. I also love twine a whole bunch....rustic as in hemp or baker's twine in all those yummy colors!

I also got pear and Baja pleated ribbon on SU's cl. Rack and adore it.
I am getting more!

Looks like Baja and pear are gone......will likely pick up some of that Blushing Bride pleated satin ribbon!

Fave ribbon: Hug Snug seam binding and 1/8" or 1/4" silk ribbon, all in white so I can use my Copics to match my projects; and using spray mists on the seam binding to make the wrinkly ribbon. Another fave: May Arts burlap string - love that in natural and ivory.

My name is Jamie and I'm also a ribbon-a-holic. I also have to tie all the bows in Stamp Club. I'm an enabler. ;)

i would say my favs right now are seam binding and taffeta, but honestly i will use what ever looks best for what i am working on at the time. i am not a slave to trends. i have some of just about everything!

ribbon is really my favorite embellishment! every card or SB page needs ribbon!

NO! i don't need an intervention... i need more ribbon!
