New Blog Badges for Weekly Favorites and CAS Favorites

Have you ever been mentioned in a Weekly Favorites or a CAS Favorites thread? Then we have brand new blog badges for you.

These were created by Lydia (Understandblue), and she deserves a big Thank You for her help. There are two versions.






The two attached text files have the code for these badges. You can copy and paste it for your blog's sidebar.

The original idea came from Darlene_Lyons. She asked ChaosMom whether SCS had anything like this available. ChaosMom recognized it as a great idea, and she passed it along to me. I contacted Lydia, and she designed the images and wrote the code for us. How cool is that?

Woo Hoo! - this is exciting for all of our fellow bloggers and crafters -- :p

The FAVS thread is one of my favorites and holds a special spot in my weekly routine....I don't get to visit the galleries as much as I'd like and this thread allows me to catch up on some of the best in the week! SOOOO much talent here on SCS and I've learned so much from the many artists here.... this is just another way to acknowledge their generosity in sharing!

THANKS to ALL who share! I hope the crafters/bloggers enjoy this badge and take advantage of it!

I'm just curious, do we have a badge for the Featured Stamper, Queen of the Day, and things like that? I wouldn't need one, but for those people that were it might be a nice idea. I thought I saw a dirty dozen badge which is why I'm asking.

Good question, Patty. I've seen the DD badges, but I don't know whether there are other special badges. I'll investigate and will post back again if I find out more.

We've had a question about how to add a badge to a Blogspot blog. My blog isn't on Blogger, so I looked it up and wrote directions. HOWEVER, I have no way of checking whether these instructions are correct or not. Will someone please confirm whether this is right, or correct me where I've got it wrong? Thanks!

How to add a badge to a Blogspot blog:

1. Copy the code in one of the files attached to Post #1 (above).
2. Log in to Blogger.
3. Go to Layout > Add a Gadget.
4. Click the html/javascript gadget. Paste your code there and save it.
5. The gadget should then appear at the top of your sidebar. You can drag it to where you want it, and then save your layout.

Before using those directions, let's wait for someone else to verify them.

NICE! Thanks, Lydia! Am I the only one having trouble with the Weekly Fav badge? The CAS Fav badge posted just fine, but the badge for the weekly fav doesn't show up when I use the provided HTML code.

Hi, Kim --

I haven't heard of specific problems with the Weekly Favorites badge code. You did great with the CAS Favorites badge, so I hope you'll give it another try. I've copied the Weekly Fav'es code here, but you'll need to delete the three * asterisks. They are only there so that the code will display in this message.

Copy that code, then log in to Blogger. Go to Layout > Add a Gadget.
Click the html/javascript gadget. Paste the code there, and then delete those three asterisks and save it.

Code is unforgiving. You need to have every single character copied correctly in order for it to work. I hope you'll report back with some better results this time. Good luck.
