I am looking into getting a new machine as I have the original Cricut which I love and will continue to use but my problem is I want to be able to cut SVG Files! What would be the best machine for it? Any help ladies
If you get a Silhouette (Portrait or Cameo) you buy the "upgrade" software that will allow you to cut SVG's. Or you can convert them with a free program called Inkscape.
I have the Cameo and love it. The Portrait has the same engine, but the cut area is just smaller. Silhouette machines do so much and cut so nicely. My favorite feature is that you can print things on your home printer and the machine will cut it out for you. There are so many cool online stores that sell SVGs too. I have an Expression and my daughter has a smaller Cricut and the Cameo BLOWS it away.
Recently bought a Cameo and am starting to love it!
It does have a learning curve - at least for me, since I've never worked with an electronic cutter before.
