Default Silhouette Desinger Software vs MTC?

I have been thinking about upgrading my software for my Silhouette SD. I am really not getting the results I want when tracing around a stamped image with the Silhouette Design Studio basic software.

I am not sure if it is something I am doing (I've watched a lot of videos) or if I am dong something wrong. I have also watched several MTC tutorials and it seems the trace function is much better than the basic Silhouette software that came with my machine. I am trying to just cut a single cut around an image but seem to get all sorts of yellow cut lines throughout the image.

Any advice/suggestions would be much appreciated!

Personally, I would go with MTC if your are going to upgrade. The trace function is the best of any software out there. Its about the same price as the SS upgrade so price wouldn't be a factor. You can also watch this video from this post. It explains how to to a proper trace in Silhouette Studio...Forums at Splitcoaststampers
