I'm thinking this varies with companies. I personally want that new Envelope Punch by We R Memory Keepers, but I'm hearing that preorders won't be shipped until April....

For some companies, not very long. I heard some are on pre-order already. But others might be 6 months or until the next show. I remember the stamping gears by Inkadinkado were almost 6 months from the last show before I saw them in the store.

Yeah, I think it all has to do with manufacturing runs. Nobody can afford to pre-run a design before they have orders.

When I saw the We R Memory Keepers Envelope Punch I thought they were being optimistic originally saying early February. Still April isn't too bad.

This is the 64 thousand dollar question LOL. It varies dramatically based on the many variables involved. And it's not unusual for projected dates to get pushed back, sometimes more than once. Knowing this helps to keep expectations tied to reality. Also, patience is definitely a virtue and I sure feel sorry for our retailers because they get inundated with inquiries when projected shipping times are not happening.

Thanks for all the replays. So are you saying that there may be items that won't be produced if there is not enough interest. Hope not! I have this wonderful project in mind and patience is not one of my better virtues. Guess I will just keep checking back with the company and see what happens.

There have definatly been occassion when an item has not produced if there is not enough interest. Petaloo is one of those compamies that comes to mind. I don't know how often it happens but it happens.
