Yes, you're right, a lazy susan spins. It has a base, a top plate, and a ring with bearings that goes between the two so that they spin with no effort. Here's some pictures from Amazon:

I'd check the Kitchen store for the ones Winnie was using. But if you want one that spins and has bins for craft supplies, then the craft store would have those.
