Default Anyone remember the post re: pegboard punch storage behind door?..

I'm looking for a post regarding a pegboard behind the door to hold punches.( I have searched and cannot find it.) Just wondering if the pegboard IS attached to the door or are there just spacers behind the board and the board is hung on hooks?

TIA for your help.

I use a shoe rack for my punches over the door but even that is very heavy. I'm actually wondering if it is too heavy for the hinges. I'd be nervous about adding the extra weight of 2x4s or however you attach the pegboard.

I have a shoe rack over the door and it is full...it is pretty heavy and the door appears to be ok....but with the extra wait of the pegboard and more punches, it might just be too heavy...well, it was a nice thought

Have you thought about hanging your planned on-the-door storage on the wall behind the door? If there's room for it to be on the back of the door when you open it, then there's room for it to be on the wall behind the door.

I've seen some really good ones that I like...here's one that's on the door, but I would put it on the wall.
Craft Room Ideas / DIY punch storage. I need this yesterday.
Sorry, I linked to the pinterest pin...just click on the picture to go to the blog with more information.

I have the Ikea racks on a piece of pegboard that I've hung on the wall behind my door....Less holes in the wall, but plenty of storage for my punches.

here's the picture of my pegboard with Ikea racks holding some of my SU punches...I have some missing (they are in my project boxes for an upcoming class). The baskets hold my little bitty punches and my border punches. I put a red dot on those punches that are retired (or move them to another location).

sorry its sideways...couldn't figure out how to get it turned (I'm on my iPAD)

Here's something I just saw in a magazine. No holes in the wall as it is attached to the door hinges. I bet some handy DH's out there could figure this one out and get it customized to specific needs.
