PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT
with a reminder to Try to Stay Healthy!
A man reported what he described as the “the toughest experience of his life.”
First, he got angina pectoris and then arteriosclerosis. Just as he was recovering from these, he got tuberculosis, double pneumonia and phthisis.
Appendicitis was followed by tonsillectomy. These gave way to aphasia and hypertrophic cirrhosis. He completely lost his memory for a while. He had diabetes and acute ingestion, besides gastritis, rheumatism, lumbago and neuritis.
Realizing that perhaps he might do better with another doctor, he made an appointment at a new medical office. The receptionist had him fill out forms that included his medical history.
When talking about the experience, he said, “I don't know how I pulled through it. It was the hardest spelling test I've ever had.”
