My new midnight muse pad just leaked like crazy and I got ink all over my fingertips. I used baby wipe, hand soap, dish detergent, mineral spirits and "purple" cleaner. The purple stuff was the only one that would even come close to getting it off.
What do you stampers use when you get ink on your hands?
I've found that washing my hair is the best way to get rid of ink. Seems to be the perfect combo of detergent/soap and the 'scrub' of hair.
And no, my blond/gray hair has never changed colour after. ;)
If done quickly enough, hand sanitizer removes most (and sometimes all) of the ink I get on my hands. I've also found better success with the thicker cloth-like baby wipes.
So far shampooing has worked best but I recently tried toothpaste (no time for a shampoo and didn't want to show up at work with inky fingers) and it worked on my fingers but not on my finger nails.
Another prodUct I like is a powdered soap by Dial called Boraxo but I don't know if it's still made. I'll have to look soon as my "hoard" is running low and my local stores don't carry it. I bought several before we moved to our current location a few years ago and use it sparingly. It leaves my hands surprisingly soft!
I just added two of the Craft Scrubbies to my shopping/wish list so I can have one handy wherever I get inky.

Oh my gosh! My Daddy kept powdered Boraxo for cleaning up his grimy farm hands! Lava soap did a similar job too. Thanks for the memory flashback!
The Ranger Scrubbie is wonderful. If you don't have one, a pumice stone rubbed lightly (like a bar of soap) usually works. Now, this may sound silly, but foot scrub with pumice particles or loofah is great. Facial scrub works as well. Really, anything that exfoliates will work. Good luck!

My FIL used it when he worked (construction, cement masonry, etc.) which is how I learned of it. I think my local stores might carry Lava soap so I'll get some to have handy (at least until I actually search for Boraxo to restock my supply). Glad I helped provide a happy memory.

This makes sense which is probably why the toothpaste worked (I forgot to mention I had previously used hand sanitizer, baby wipes and numeorus vigorous hand washings).
I always have a Scotchbrite pad in the bathroom. I cut it in half (easier to use when it's smaller) and stick it in a little glass container thing I have from somewhere, right next to the sink. That's what I use to clean ink off my hands. I just use the hand soap I have in the pump dispenser. So far it's worked for everything.

I usually just wear it like a badge of honour. If I know I'm going to do something that's going to be really messy, I put on a pair of disposable vinyl gloves. If it happens that I do get ink all over (which is generally the case), I find if I get it right away, baby wipes will get it off. If that doesn't work, then I try the alcohol ink blending solution or rubbing alcohol. And if that doesn't work, I wait until I have a shower the next morning and its gone after I shampoo my hair.

In our area its 20 Mule Team Borax, look at the stores maybe they have that. I love the stuff, its a great cleaner for everything.
LOL! Usually a shower (wash hair) and a batch of dishes gets you back as good as new!
Washing my hair is what seems to work for me as well. :p Of course that does make me wonder about what's in my shampoo since it will get theink stains off of my hands when the hand soap and other items won't !!
Normally I don't care if a little ink shows. Everyone probably expects it at this point. But - I was heading out to a holiday party and had white, green and red splotches all over my hands! In a panic - grabbed the goo-off gel. WOW! Worked immediately! Of course I then washed THAT off with regular bar soap.
don’t let it get dry on your hands, use running water and then right away rub your hands with windex.
Then wipe them with a paper tower. Absolutely clean hands.
Whatever is in hairspray, either aerosol or pump, will dissolve ink. Simply spray it on,
Lava soap because it is slightly gritty.
If you don’t have a bar, try sprinkling a little powdered cleanser on soapy area and mix.Let it sit for a moment and wash off.
My #1 choice is Shampoo. Don't want to take the time to shampoo your hair; Just squirt alittle in your hands and start washing your hands. Comes off in no time.
Lots of great ideas here!! I've been inking even up to the time of our formal Air Force Ball -- and I just washed my hands with my Ranger Craft Scrubbie & was able to glam up with no residue! =)

Thanks for the tip on Boraxo! I have not found anything that removes paint, ink, etc. from my fingernails and i look forward to trying this product.

When I was new to stamping, I bought some stamp cleaner, and it came with a small bar of dark green soap with tiny white spots in it. It cleans your hands of all stains and even paint. The package is now old and I can't read the name on it, but in the corner it says, "Original B & J Especially Prepared". My bar is now broken in half, but I keep it near the sink in the bathroom. Glad to hear other things work as well. I have a can of Boraxo, so when my bar is gone, I know where to look. Thanks for the ideas!
I keep a package of Windex glass cleaner wipes for ink emergencies and find they work well removing ink from my fingers and those of my grandchildren who love to stamp when they come to visit.

I'll look at Amazon and Staples when I need a few other things and include some Boraxo in the order (hope I remember ... I should have done when holiday shopping DUH!)
I did buy a scrubby yesterday for $4.99 at A.C.Moore - I plan to keep it in my scrap tote.
