I had a great time hosting the Divine Design Bible Verse Challenge in 2010, 2011 & 2012, so I am doing this again for 2013.
This is an opportunity for you memorize** Scripture each month. And to help you do so, you make any kind of paper project, with the Scripture as the focus, such as: album pages, bookmarks, cards, calendar pages, and anything else that works for you.
I have been making a 6x6 Album for each year, with a month for each page. Then I have can keep going through them to refresh my memory on the Scriptures I have memorized, so as to keep them in my mind. I put each current month in a stand where I can see it often, then add it to my album each month.
There are a lot of great scripture stamps out there, but if you don't have any, don't let that stop you. You can print scriptures from your computer! This challenge is a great tool to help you with memorizing & meditating on God's Word. You can join anytime and I hope you will. The guidelines are simple:
1. Must have a Bible verse printed, stamped, hand-written or computer generated on your project.
2. Upload a picture of your project to the Gallery with the scripture reference as your project title (i.e. BVC13 - John 1:14)
3. Be sure to then post in this thread what Month you have uploaded and provide a link to it in this thread. That way we can see what each other has done, and encourage one another with comments in the Gallery. You might even be inspired to use one of the Scriptures you see as a future choice for yourself.
4. Be sure to put BVC13 as a Keyword when you Upload. This is the Bible Verse Challenge keyword: BVC13 (same keyword all year). While I do appreciate all kinds of inspirational messages, poems and quotes, for the purpose of this challenge, please respect the scripture reference guideline. Do not use this keyword if you have not used a Biblical scripture on your project.
5. No vendor restrictions.
6. The goal will be to post one project for each month of 2013. Try to post it no later than the end of each month (but you can still post later than that, too).
I look forward to seeing all the great projects in the BVC13 gallery! Please feel free to PM me if you you have any questions!
I pray this blesses each of you, as it does me, each month.
Blessings,
LM :-)
** The intent of the the challenge is to combine our love of scripture and our love of stamping. The goal is also to work on memorizing. I understand that not all are able to memorize, and I would never tell anyone that they cannot participate if they cannot get their posted verses memorized. :-)
Oh, thank you for doing it again! I think I will do an album this year like you, just for me! Maybe for a friend or two also. But, do you still want us to put cards in this gallery that we put verses on?
So glad you will be joining us again. :-) Be sure to put BVC13 as a Keyword and your Divine Designs Bible Verse Challenges will show up in the BVC13 Gallery.
LM :-)

I just love this challenge, as well as the idea to display a different verse in my home each month. What a great way to keep our focus on Him. I can't wait to start!
I just created the opening page for my book and I am posting it under the BVC13 keyword. I hope this is okay. I used my Cricut New Testament & Inspired Heart cartridges to create it. Hope you like.
Welcome Verity...I am so glad you are joining us for 2013...I can't wait to see your Scriptures and creations. :-) LM

That is a great idea to have an opening page for your book. I looked at it and commented. :-) It is a good idea to also link your card in your post so we can go right to it when reading your post. :-) LM

Came by to see what was available for faith-based challenges and I think I will join in, making mine a spiral-bound mixed media journal. I think I can keep up with a once a month page. Thanks for leading this and doing the memory work will be awesome!
Hi Gwen...I am so glad you are going to join us. I look forward to seeing your monthly verses and pages. :-) LM

I edited my original post now to include the link. I am still new and had to figure out how to do all that. Thanks for your comments.
Welcome Craftymummy and Smile160...I am so glad you both have joined us in our Bible Verse Challenge. I look forward to seeing your monthly creations and Scripture verses. :-) LM
it is now 2013, and our opportunity to participate in our 2013 Bible Verse Challenge. This Challenge has been going for several years now and I am so thrilled to still see new participants as well as having former ones still participating.
I encourage you to read Post#1 of this thread carefully for the objectives and guidelines of this challenge. I have also put the link in that post to see the BVC13 Gallery.
The theme of this challenge is Encouragement. The reason I host this Challenge each year and I love doing so) is to encourage all of us to grow in our understanding of Scripture as we use our creativity in making our monthly projects. I would also like for all of us to encourage each other by commenting in the Gallery on each others' monthly projects and Scripture Verses.
Last year I compiled a 12-page minibook with my verses of the month. My plan this year is to do Art Journal pages for each month. This month's page is using my word for 2013: TRUST. I have uploaded it here , and details are on my blog.

I am having problems uploading my pic. When I search for it, it seems to be there but when I click on the pic, it keeps giving me the message, "Sorry, we came up empty on your search terms. Check your spelling?"
What am I not doing right? Lol. Thanks for helping.
Have a Blessed ay!
I chose to make a simple bookmark as I do intend on compiling them into a mini book at the end of the year and probably present it to a friend who may also need it *hugs*

I had some time yesterday and today to make my page for January. I bought a 8.5" x 11" sketchbook to use for my journal, we didn't have anything better in our town and Hobby Lobby and Michaels are about an hour away. I might have to modpodge a couple pages together, they are kind of thin alone.
I used a verse from I Thess. that says to encourage one another. I am trying to be more encouraging this year. I started a 30 day plan to encourage my husband!
You can see my page HERE.
Welcome k3bmom & hordemother...I am thrilled that you both have joined us in our Bible Verse Challenge. I look forward to seeing your monthly creations and Scripture Verses. :-) LM
Gwen...I loved looking at and commenting on your January creation. I noticed you put BVC12 instead of BVC13 as your keyword (You did have BVC13 in your title). You can correct that by clicking "Edit Photo". This does not actually change your photo, but lets you correct any typos, etc. :-) LM

Is it too late to join this challenge? I think this could end up being a wonderful Christmas gift after the year is through. If I am not to late, I would like to play!
Cydstamps...It is definitely NOT too late to join our Bible Verse Challenge. Welcome...I look forward to seeing your monthly creations and Scripture verses. :-) LM

Precious Kitty...By putting BVC13 as your keyword, your card will be automatically placed in our BVC13 Gallery. It is helpful if everyone also puts the link to their monthly project in a post on this thread, so when reading this thread we can go to see projects as they are posted. Hope that helps. :-) LM
