My Michael's (Durham, NC) had (key word) the Spellbinders/Hampton Arts stamp and die cut sets for......ONE CENT! They were marked down on clearance for $11.99 but when I got to the register they were $.01. Regular price was $24.99. After holding up the line I thankfully dug into my change purse and gave the cashier $.04.

Funny Michael's story. I called both of the Michael's within 6 miles of my house. Both told me the Christmas spellbinders were not on sale. But I had one to return as I received a duplicate at Christmas, so I decided to go see what I could get on sale yesterday after reading this post. I found a stamp set, 2 single stamps all on sale and the Christmas pointsettia and had a 50% off coupon so what the heck, right? Well when I went to the checkout and the spellbinder rang up at the 7.49 so for all I only spent $4.97 with the credit for the returned duplicate. The salesperson was completely surprised and said she had not been told they were on clearance. Oh, Michael's!
Anyway, thanks to the original Op for the tip off, well worth the trip!

Ohhhhh not fair!!!! The ones you got are exactly the ones I want, but not only were they NOT on sale, the Michaels near me (southern CA) didn't even have them. No Christmas ones at all... just the usual ones ... and not even some of those, lol. I tried to use their 50% off the Ribbon Buckles, but they didn't have those! (deep heavy sigh).
But thanks for the heads up anyway. And congrats to everyone who DID get the one they wanted on sale.

I went to the Wausau WI store and the only verison they had left was the ornaments. The tag on their 'locked' rack said $12.99. I asked the gal if she would be willing to scan it and it came up 4.97.
laying on the bottom of that same rack were 2 of those stamp/die combo sets. I asked the gal to ring those up. 1 penny. I thought she would tell me that she can't sell that to me at that price - I've had them say that before - but no problem, She rang it through without asking a question.
Thanks for the awesome tip. I would have never thought those would have counted as clearance. I ended up getting $75.00 worth of merchandise for like $5.
Merry Christmas to me!!!

I sure hope the sales on Spellbinders at Michaels does not mean they are getting rid of them. ACMoore near me has all their Spellbinders in a bin up front on clearance, and nothing back in the store where they used to be! I don't think they are getting any more in.

That's what they are at my Michaels currently. So you can't use a 50% off coupon since they are already on sale.

They had the same sale at mine except for the Christmas ones were $7.49 each. The clearance tag said $9.99 but when I got up to the register, it rang up $7.49 that's when I got the ornaments too. I should of gotten the snowflakes, if it's still there on Friday, I'll go back & get it. I told myself I'd stay out of Michaels for awhile.

I went in and tried to get the ornament set, but it rang up as $0.00. The clerk said that must be an error, so she called to the back and they told her these were $24.99. The clerk said, but the Spellbinders are buy one, get one at 50% off so I could grab a second set to get the sale. I said no thanks and left without them.
Now, the funny thing is I actually bought the snowflakes last week at $7.49....

Hmmm....all is fair in love and economics? If they have more, I'd go back and get the rest and take my receipt for the first one where you only paid a penny. I'm just saying.....tee-hee.

This weekend we in a different city. Just had to run into Mike's to see if I could score more. no nesties - bummer, but I did find 4 of those Nesties/stamp combos. I took them through the check out and they rang up .01. The gal called the manager, she got an answer in her head set and put all 4 sets in my bag without charging me ANYTHING. I stood there with a puzzled look on my face, so she told me that she was told those were supposed to have been pulled from the shelf. since they weren't they have to 'give' them to me. I'm guessing the gal misunderstood the term give - I think she was supposed to have sold them to me but does 4 cents make a difference in the end??? Their inventory will probably be off though.
anyway, it was fun - got about $100 worth of merchandise literally for free.
Sounds like we have the WI Mike's cleaned out now.

I received an E-mail awhile ago that the rewards we earn would no longer be automatically loaded on the reward card, but they would be E-mailed instead starting Jan. 1.

All the Michaels in Louisville and Clarksville Indiana are small. They don't put Spellbinders on sale for $5 or less. I would love the poinsettia die and ran out there to be disappointed. Very happy for those of you who got a great deal!

It has nothing to do with Micheals with losing money.
It is a process of the check out that the cashier HAS to go through. They are REQUIRED to ask for emails for each and every customer. It is their job. If you-the customer wishes not to give email -just say no, it is no problem, just like any other store.
