Haven't read Chesapeake or Texas but I LOVED Space. My all time favorite Michener was The Fires of Spring--just a heartrendingly moving and beautiful book.

I couldn't get through Poland, though--neither could my Mom or sister, despite our desperately loving both Michener and anything to do with Polish history. Maybe I should try again but given a choice between finishing Poland and watching paint dry I would have gone over and stared at the wall. Alaska was awesome though!!!
