Anyone used Tsukineko Walnut Inks?

Just got these as a gift and I confess I had never heard of them. I got a set of four - java, walnut, eucalyptus and terra cotta. They are all apparently made of walnut crystals and some sort of dye. They're in spray bottles. I couldn't find much about them on the Tsukineko website, oddly. This is all they had:

Anyone used these? Are they an alcohol ink? Water based? What do you do with them? The fact that Tsukineko says you can use them on wood and leather makes me think they are not water based.

I have the exact same ones. I didn't realize that I could use them on leather or wood. I have been using them on paper all these years. I just spritz my projects lightly to give them an aged look.
You can spray them, use them to paint with, spray over stencils or masks. Spray the darker browns over roads to give them texture. Use the eucalyptus to add dimension to forests and trees.
That's what comes to mind at the moment.

What are you using to clean them off stencils? Regular stamp cleaner like Stampin Mist or do you need something stronger?

Any alcohol or solvent odor to them?

Thanks. I think I will call Tsukineko after the holiday and ask them some questions. There is very little info on the bottle.

Sorry I wasn't more helpful. I don't think they are alcohol based. They seem to be water based with a dye ink so there is some staining.

I definitely will, sheabella. I am going to call the company on Wednesday and find out exactly what's in them. I will post what I find out.
