I don't pay a whole lot of attention to birds either. Around here we do have robins from spring to fall. We have mockingbirds and blackbirds. In the summer we have hummingbirds (just the ruby throated ones - and even so, I've only seen the female ones, which makes me wonder just how they are reproducing
). I haven't noticed cardinals here in my neck of the woods, but when I was growing up we'd often see them in the back yard. It's been a while since I've seen any blue jays around here. And there's some sort of little brown & tan birds that seem to like making nests in our arborvitae.
