Locked the darn keyboard again...
I was saying I get 9 sick days a year (standard teaching contracts) and with my treatments every other week and then a couple of days for chemo issues and scans, I ran out of sick days right before Thanksgiving. So I get docked a day of pay each time I am out. Those checks in my savings from the cancer fund are life savers.
I depend on me, myself and I to provide for my home, bills, etc.... I give blessings to God who knew I could handle this burden of cancer better than others.
If this had happened at my last teaching job (in another state), I would have had to quit work completely 5 years ago and go on Social Security and Medicaid. I would be living with family in a spare room, not in my own home. God blessed me with this job, and then needed me to shoulder some responsibilities with this disease.
Not sure what lessons I am to learn, but know I can handle them. I am blessed.
