Default Teflon Bone Folder

For those of you have one of these and love it, please tell me why you love it. I have one but am definitely not crazy about it. First, it's slick in my hand, and I feel like I have to hold it especially tight so it won't slip. Second, the tip is broader than my other bone folders; thus, the score I get from it is broader. This is a matter of preference, but it seems to give my cards a more cumbersome, less concise, fold.

Maybe I'm missing something, but I prefer my cheapie bone folders. Maybe I'm using it wrong (although I don't know how I could misuse something as simple as a bone folder, but maybe). Could you help me love mine, LOL?

I personally cannot sell you on the teflon folder because I don't have one (yet).

However, these teflon folders have been recommended on some online classes by people respected in the industry and whose opinions I value. They say that these folders don't leave a shiny area on the cardstock. And I know what they're talking about there because I get the shine with my regular bone folder, and I don't like it one bit !

I am thinking about getting one of these puppies....

So funny. . . I was considering getting one of these too. Some well respected bloggers were recommending it as they say it will not leave a shiny area at the fold of the cardstock. I haven't gotten around to it yet but I may try one.

I put a piece of scrap paper between the card and the bone folder. That way there is no shine on the card.
Just an idea

I got one and really like it. I get a much better fold with it and no shine. My old SU bone folder developed cracks, etc and I never was all that thrilled with it.

Using a piece of paper is a good thought, but I need to see where I'm making the crease and how I'm doing on the crease (I'm 'crease challenged' LOL).

Looks like I'm going to hafta get one of dese teflon thingys haha

I use a little roller from my wallpaper hanging supplies to crease the folds. It works great and doesn't leave a shine

This is what the little roller looks like. I am sure you can buy them at any hardware store

Mine is a cheap plastic one

I do not have one and have been tempted after taking a few online classes. I do use a piece of paper on cards to prevent shine and it does work perfectly. I am torn. I have 3 already (gifts from people over the years....) so I don't think I "need" one.

The Teflon bone folder is have is one of the first tools I bought after catching the card making 'fever'. It has served me well and is used on every fold on my cards. The one I have had rounded sides, corners and point so it slides easily and doesn't leave a shine. The area that you grip is rectangular easy to hold.
