Did you ever see the movie "The DaVinci Code"? Ian McKellan's character asked Tom Hanks' character, "What goes in Earl Grey tea, milk or lemon?" (It was a test.) And the answer was, "Lemon." So your mom was probably technically correct. But that doesn't stop me from putting milk in it.
