it's on the edge of the Allegheny Forest, but over on the western side, about 1 1/2 hours from Pitt. it's a 3 hour drive from our house in Ohio, so not too bad. it's really a beautiful place, as is almost anywhere you go in PA.
Poconos are very pretty. I never got too far west, maybe as far as Knoebles. I think it's about 6 hours from the Poconos to Pitt, but maybe less. I like PA, lots to see and do there. We liked to go to Jim Thorpe, Pilly, Hershey and Gettysburg. Oh and the Crayola factory. All places on the eastern side.
