Many people use the sticky part of a Post-It note to hold a Framelit, Nestability, or other wafer-thin die in place when running it through a cutting machine. I have done that, and have thrown away the left-over plain-paper part of the Post-It.
3M has come to our rescue! They now make full-adhesive Post-Its -- only about 1/2" doesn't have the adhesive! They are a little pricey, but they are so much more practical. The full-adhesive Post-Its are available at Staples, Office Depot, and perhaps other stores, as well.
I don't have that many dies and don't use them that often (tend to use my CraftRobo more for cutting), but one thing you could try and I use it for masking quite a bit is the Elmers repositionable glue stick. The adhesive is just like the post-it note glue. I use it on scraps so I don't feel bad wasting tape or sticky notes.
ETA: I also use it to attach my liners in my cards for people I know who will want to re-use the card to someone else.

I use the 3M removable tape. Another option is to use washi tape. I buy the tape at Michael's/JoAnn in the multipack. I use the tape I know I won't use on a project and it can be used more than once. This tape is not too tacky so can be removed without ruining your card stock or DSP.

Great minds. I just looked at a youtube video where she used washi tape to hold the die in place. What a great idea. I have several rolls that came in a pack, and a couple of them are not colors I would use on cards.

This is what I use too! Absolutely love it! You can use it over and over and doesn't leave any residue ..at least not on my paper...yet! LOL
Another user and believer of blue painter's tape.... I just tear off a little bit to hold it down maybe in two places, then store the tape on the top carry handle til I need it again... last a long time...
Scotch brand has a new colored removable tape out - I think it's called X-Pressions or something like that. I found it at Staples, I got purple. For some reason having colored tape instead of clear makes me happy. :-)
My husband is a painter and I use his blue painters' tape all the time--works great for anything you need to hold down temporarily. He also gave my a roll of whitelow tack paper tape that is really great also--use both over and over and over--no residue either, even if you leave it stuck to the dies! It is available lots of places, but likely least expensive at the paint store or the dollar store--although the price may not be much of a factor--I have had a roll for over 5 years and still have half of it, and I die cut a lot.
I use the little Post-It flags/tabs that you use to mark a page. They have a colored end with no adhesive, but the other 2/3 does. They can be used over and over. I keep some on the handle of my Cuttlebug so they are available when I go to cut.They are small enough that you don't end up cutting them up.
I use "Post-it Super Sticky Label Roll" for my thin dies. It is just like the post-it notes without the extra paper. It comes on a roll which is one inch by 700" long. The pieces can be used multiple times before you need a new one. It can also be used to make your own Washi tape; it's white and takes ink beautifully. I purchased mine at Office Depot.

I do sometimes use the post-its but most of the time I use the 3M repositionable scotch tape. Works great.
I use this too. Works great! Many also use washi tape but I can't bear to use it because I'd feel like I was wasting it. Eclipse tape was what I used to use before they stopped making it. Don't have a lot left.

i use normal scotch tape and felt it on my clothes first to remove some of the sticky. just use small pieces. the removeable scotch tape is nigh on impossible to get over here in teh UK!
