hi lori and elaine! you girlies need to jump in! it's SUCH fun! now in the beginning i made lots of hideous pages. but don't let that scare you off! though most of my pages are more mixed media and less official art journaling :P still not sure where the line is! here is a good "recipe" - pick a quote you like to build your page around. pick out 3 coordinating patterned papers and a page from a book or music book or even a map. paint your page, tear your papers and adhere in no particular arrangement - overlap them, leave some base paint showing. pick 1 acrylic paint, one metallic paint (luminarte silks glaze even better), and cream or white - sponge paint ever so lightly to unify your page. add stamping. spray mist through a stencil, add quote. ta da! i love this because it is a great way to use up the MOUNTAINS of older papers i have piled up.
