Lori, got a few days? LOL.. I believe there is a video of me doing a canvas somewhere floating in one of the posts
But for a journal, you go and find a book that makes you happy.. Moleskine, Watercolor book, reading book that you enjoy the page size, loose pages you can bind later... slather on some GESSO (an art journaling staple) and the REST is up to you my dear
There are so many techniques, and styles out there.. I use lots of acrylic paint.. I use vintage fodder.. and I glue and I stick and I paint until I feel that I don't have to anymore. If you have something on your mind GET IT OUT on that page.. you can paint over it but at least it is detoxifying your soul. Stamp on the page, glue tissue on the page.. the world is your oystah my sistah. The journey is yours.. I can recommend some tools but I AM SURE you have it all. You can also challenge yourself to use tools/coloringmediums/embellishments you have never used before in there. IT IS YOUR PLACE.. no one needs to go in there.
Let me know if you need anything else. You can also go to my pinterest board TUTORIALS and ART JOURNALING and you will see TONS of inspiration there!
