MMTPT225 ~ DESTINATION STATION
This week our destination is Meadowbrook, PA. If you would like a destination for your card this week, how about sending it to George? George was brought to our attention by fellow Teapotter Fran (philsmom).
Some of you may know that Fran is an avid owner and breeder of Jack Russells. Fran's friend, George is also a Jack Russell owner and a breeder. He has also battled cancer and was given the all clear last year. However, upon reexamination in October of this year, the doctors determined that the all clear given was in error. As of this writing, George has opted to have surgery, a very risky one requiring months of recuperation away from his home and his dogs.
George put out the word that he needed to find homes for his dogs and puppies. The Jack Russell community responded and a few days after, George said good-bye to all but four of his lifelong fur babies as he prepares for the battle for his life. He raised most of his dogs from puppies and he has produced many Nationals champions in a variety of events that the JRTCA hosts, as well as Bronze Medallion dogs (the highest honor a Jack Russell can achieve). Can you imagine the trauma of having to give up your dogs when you will be going through such a difficult time. But George lives alone in a rural area and the dog's happiness and welfare comes first in his mind. His 4 remaining dogs have gone to Virginia where his niece will care for them. If all goes well, they will be back with George in the future.
Please note that *Get Well Soon* sentiments are not appropriate.
If George does not have this surgery, he has only been given 6 to 20 months to live.
