Is there a place online where I can see the difference between these two? Or can you point me to a page in the catalog that has examples of both colors? There isn't any notation next to the colors on an of the pages. My demo didn't have both/ hasn't used both so no luck there. I'm looking for a red ink that isn't as bright red as Real Red but not as burgundy looking as Cherry Cobbler but I do want a deep red...am I making sense? LOL...
I think Cherry Cobbler has a little more burgundy to it. Riding Hood Red is lighter than Cherry Cobbler and has a little more brown to it than Real Red.
Maybe this will help...it's a picture I took back when cherry cobbler first came out, and compares real red, riding hood red, cherry cobbler, and the retired cranberry crisp.
If you're talking about the paper, I used RHR for my Thanksgiving cards this year. It was the first SU color of cs that I bought. It's a softer color than Real Red and lighter than Cherry Cobbler. It's not as pink as Raspberry Ripple.
Inkwise, RHR was also one of my first SU inkpads, but it got that gold sheen on top and didn't stamp very well after about a year. I finally gave up on it and have been using Cherry Cobbler instead. Using the markers on stamps I found the InColor Raspberry Ripple was very close to Cherry Cobbler.
I use Riding Hood Red often, it's like what we used to call scarlet and it's a match to Marine Corps red and my kids' high school scarlet. It's a tad browner than Real Red, which is close to the basic red in a Crayola 8 pack.

Cindy...If you contact your demo about the stamp pad that "did a Charlie" (that's getting a gold "Sheen" lol!) she can contact Stampin Up and get you a replacement. It doesn't matter how long you have had the stamp pad.

You are right, SU replaced my "Charlie-d" red pads (one actually had crystals on the surface!) :shock: The pads in question were Real Red, Cherry Cobbler and Riding Hood Red.
Here's the real surprise - when I stamped a sample of each of these colors, the Real Red and the Cherry Cobbler were almost identical in tone. In fact, to prove it to myself I inked a solid circle stamp 1/2 with RR and 1/2 with CC, with the two colors meeting in the center. They were so close in color that the only way a difference could be detected was to take the same outside in the sunshine to look at it. I let my demo know and she did a similar experiment and had the same result with the new pads. She was going to visit with someone at SU about it. Haven't heard anything back on it yet. Of course I ditched my old real red pad, now I wish I had kept it. :???:
