Our first Digital Scrapbook Day 2012 Challenge is to create a Clean and Simple layout with ONE photo (stacked like mine if you like), using no layers just a great background paper. You may use other papers to fill punches, and minimal stamps and embellishments! Use texting/chat or Twitter lingo in your title or journalling!
I have used SU Pocketful of Posies papers, Basic Jewels, Butterfly Shape 2 punch, Medium Arrow punch and #hashthis and Bliss Stamp brushes.
Be sure to add the keywords DSD2012-01 and SBC12NOV (we'll get November's goal gallery started!) so we can find your work! Paste your link here too!
This is such a great page, Terri. Although you know I'm not a "CAS" scrapper, just last night I was thinking about trying to do a CAS with a stacked photo--you were reading my mind! I'll get started on this for a few minutes. DH and I will be heading out to our dance team practice in a little while!
Done Day 1!
Thank you so much Wendy and Terri!
I'm posting my page ... but may have to go back and change it a bit. I don't have today's date (which is important for the journalling in this case), and I don't think I actually included my son's name anywhere ... oops! Have to fix that before I send him an electronic version!
And once again I got to use my favorite kit - Picture This for the filmstrip!
I'm probably not going to be able to participate. I have to take my laptop to the "doctor's". All of a sudden this past week it started to get v e r y s l o w when doing anything. I thought maybe the storm with regards to the internet but it is slow for regular things too so off to Staples I go today. I'll check in with the hubby's PC but no scrapping since the program is on mine......

Bummer Terry! Hopefully when your laptop isn't sick anymore you will be able to do a couple of the challenges that intrigue you!

You always tell me you aren't a CAS scrapper, but I don't believe you ;) Can't wait to see what you come up with!

Oh darn, Terry! We'll miss you. You're part of our digi-scrappin' core! Computers can be the best of friends...and the worst sometimes! Hope it's not serious. Remember, you have until next Sunday 11-11-12 to do your pages.
Here in the U.S. we have two important patriotic days coming up --- Election Day (11/6) and Veterans Day (11/12). The colors of the American Flag are red, white and blue and theyre the colors that represent patriotism in the U.S.
:p I know several of our digi-scrappers are from other countries, so, my challenge to everyone is to make a page predominantly using the colors of your countrys flag. You may use other colors, but try to have your flags colors be the main ones.
:p One more thing for the challenge!
Use this template/sketch for your page. Its a FREE download from a site that our fellow digiscrapper, Lori, directed us to recently. The free template was actually posted there for last years DSD day, but the link still works.
The template is in several formats. I know Photoshop and Elements users can download and use the template. I think MDS scrappers can use it too, but Im not sure how that works. (anyone??) Either way, use the layout as a sketch or template for your page.
Be sure to add the keywords DSD2012-04 and SBC12NOV so we can find your work! Paste your link here too!
Wendy and I agreed that there are so many GREAT challenges already posted, and that we would try to bring some attention to some of them! Why re-create the wheel - or in this case, an already GREAT challenge!? We got a big dump of first season snow yesterday and I've already begun to listen to Christmas music and have been thinking about Christmas gifts and traditions. I love this challenge, and I have the perfect "Persnickety" story to tell on my page!
Here's the Challenge: Create a scrapbook layout about one of your holiday traditions that youre persnickety about. (The word persnickety has a long history and, by most accounts, dates back to Scotland where it was used to describe a person or business that required painstaking care in everything they did.) This could be about how painstakingly you set your holiday dinner table, or how fussy you are about wrapping your gifts. You must use the word persnickety somewhere on your layout. You may use photos, papers and elements of your choice. The challenge is open to digital and paper crafters.
Don't forget to use the keywords DSD2012-05 and SBC12NOV so we can find your work, and also add the original challenge keyword SIC87 too - why not?! Post a link back here too! I will add my page soon!

Make that four! Terri posted while I was having lunch!
So ... clean house ... or digitally scrapbook?
Like that's even a question!!!
I'll just wait for the "dishes fairy" to stop by! Terri? Maybe on your way home from bball?
What kind of question is that? Scrapbook of course! I have been home for over an hour, was working on Wendy's shape challenge from last night and completely lost track of time! Ready to post it here pretty quick! Sorry I can't stop in and do your dishes ;)
