I have been reading MYRCA books to my young readers....End of Days by Eric Walters....
Yes, Jen! I read a lot " Can Lit" . I read a couple of the long and shortlisted Giller Prize books this year - Inside by Alix Ohlin- didn't care for it, and Our Daily Bread by Lauren Davis, which I thought was fabulous!
I've also been reading some of the Governor General finalists - The Juliet Stories by Carrie Synder and I'm just finished The Purchase by Linda Spalding - really a fabulous but sad read. Oh yeah - one other Giller Prize finalist - The Imposter Bride. That was a great read! I do read the Man Bookers too - not all of them - but ones that interest me.
Hmm I don't know MYRCA - will have to look it up, but I remember my sons loving the novels by Eric Walters when they were young!
