MMTPT223 ~ November 6, 2012 ~ A duck in the city is a duck out of water!
WELCOME TO TEAPOT TUESDAY MMTPT223 AND
THE SISTERHOOD OF THE TRAVELING TEAPARTY
A duck in the city is a duck out of water! Jake's a duck and should live on a lake for goodness sake!
Jake and Jen are living in the city Jake is the object of his friends pity.
Jakes a drake, who is a duck out of water. The lake is where he wants to be and oughtta But alas, his hen, Jen wont leave the city life for Jake this is a source of so much strife.
Lake Winnipeg is where hed rather stay. His only city friend is a solitary blue jay. The lake is the place for a duck to get muddy At the lake he has lots and lots of buddies Theres Chuck the Buck, Kip the Chipmunk and Cabot the Rabbit. Seeing his friends and conversing with them was his daily habit.
Jake flew to the lake and with a loud quack, said Hey you guys its good to be back. Ive missed you all, but Jen the city wont forsake I wish I could get her to just come see the lake. You know this is where Id rather live<O:p</O:p But Jen wont yield, she just wont give Im late for dinner and Ive got to get back. So he bid a quick farewell; alas and alack.
It was so good to see our old friend Jake Hes been absent too long from our home, the lake. Chuck, Kip and Cabot put their heads together for ideas How could they persuade Jen to get over her fears? Just then, Flo heard the guys talking She wasnt aware of Jens balking.
Flo said to her hubby, Chuck,if you please Ill enlist the help of the girls, you see. well find a way to help Jen feel at ease, Ive got an idea, leave this to me.
So Flo the Doe, called Tabitha the Rabbit and Tip the Chipmunk And let them know that Jake is in a funk. Tip said, I wondered why I hadnt seen him around I didnt know Jen was so tightly wound.
These compassionate wives formed a huddle and decided to travel to see Jen in her pitiful puddle. Tip and Tabitha hopped up on Flo And off to the city they did go. Hi Jen, were glad to meet you, we know your husband Jake. Weve brought you a snack of invertebrates from the lake.
Jen looked up with a tear in her eye. Then choked up and let out a sigh. Im sorry Ive been such a drag you all must think Im such a hag. Ive never lived on a lake and Im afraid of leaving town. Why dont you see for yourself? come on down. The lake is so peaceful, the air is superb Better than having a view of a city curb.
Come for a visit, just give it a try. Youll be back home in a jiff, since you can fly. The lake is a really nice place to reside the air is clean and the view is wide. Well leave you now so you can think and decide.
Jen munched on the snack the gals had brought Shed never had lake invertebrates, freshly caught. Jen enjoyed this newfound snack And now she wanted to give something back.
These three strangers thought enough to bring me a gift Ill consider what they said; I shouldnt give them the short shrift.
Jake returned home to find Jen in deep thought Hi honey, look what my new friends brought! Ive had a visit from the wives of your buddies I really didnt mean to be a fuddy duddy. Can we fly to the Lake so I can take a peek? Maybe well stay a day or a week.
And so Jake and Jen flew to the lake The fresh air made Jen feel awake. The fear left her and she felt as she ougghta a duck in the city is a duck out of water! Jen was so happy she never looked back Her new friends helped her get on track. Jake and Jen lived happily ever after, Quack! Quack

Here's my card for today's challenge. I used In Wilderness for the masculine element and the bible verse comes from Happy Harmony (I'd like chocolate chip please!):
I can't seem to remember to post my card here in the forum. Here is my card for Tom, posted yesterday in the challenge gallery. Sorry, I had to girly it up just a bit with some ribbon and bling, hopefully he won't mind!
Hi ladies. I am just letting you know that I won't be able to participate in our group for a few weeks. I am having neck surgery on Friday. I have two vertebrae that are chipped and the bone is pressing on my spinal cord. It's a 4-5 hour surgery with 3 day stay in the hospital with 3 months recovery. I will be back as soon as possible. I will miss you ladies and your beautiful creations.
I will put my tickle a teapotter card in the mail tomorrow.
I've finally finished commenting on all of the cards in this gallery! wow! Wow! wow! I feel like I have taken a trip down memory lane. Seeing all the different and beautiful cards was like looking at photos of different properties they have owned or different things we did! Thank you so much for each and every card. They are ALL PERFECT! Both mom and dad will appreciate the work and care and details that have gone into every one. He has received a few so far and is enjoying them so much. He has no idea how many more are coming!
He ended up in the hospital again last night. I will get an update tonight. He is dehydrated again and hopefully that is all. Thanks for your thoughts and prayers. Huge hugs from my mom and dad and me
