Glue for Glitter - Recommendations please

What is the best glue for glitter? I use Stickles a lot but have a card where I want to use quite a bit of glitter and since I'm making 20 of them, would prefer to use glitter instead of Stickles. Thinking about using M's Recollections brand Extra Fine Glitter. What glue do you use for glitter? Is there one that won't warp the card? I'm using an 80# cardstock but since there's so much coverage Stickles is making it buckle.

I think any 'wet' glue used over a large area has a tendency to warp the paper as the liquid in it is absorbed. Is there any way you could use a tape,(I don't know what the design looks like, lol), or maybe stamp the image onto acetate, then glitter the back of the image, then add it to the card?In which case use something like a clear drying PVA glue. Because the acetate can't absorb the liquid from the glue, it won't buckle. Then you can add it to the card with a blob or two of silicone glue. Here on my blog is a couple using this technique. Or could you stamp onto a sheet of sticky backed clear film, then apply the glitter to that? Here is where I did one like this using sticky backed film & gilding flakes. Hth.

It's a bit pricey but the Xyron is perfect for the type of glitter application you are wanting to do. You could also buy sticker paper and peel off the top part to apply glitter.

I use Aleene's Clear Tacky Glue for glitter but it will buckle if it's a large area. You could also try brayering liquid glue on your paper. I have done this before. My paper did not buckle.

EK Success, under both the Zig and Martha Stewart names, makes a glue marker in several different sizes. One is a very fine point, one is medium, one is a thick chisel, and one is a very wide "square." I've used all of them, and I've never had any warping or buckling. You do have to use a light touch, and not apply puddles of glue; but with fine glitter, you shouldn't need puddles to adhere it. I hope this helps.

Are you planning to cover the entire surface with glitter? If so, you might try the adhesive sheets that SU! sells (#120805). I've had great luck with those.

A spray adhesive might also work for you. I've tried that with the dryer sheet technique.

I tried brayering glitter glue over the embossed area I saw posted on SCS but wasn't able to get the results I wanted. So I'm using more glitter than I usually would stickle but it's not the entire card by any means. Glitter is just so much cheaper! I'm going to try Janny's suggestion to use a glue marker. So are you talking about filling in the debossed areas? For that, I'd use a 2-way glue pen.

The glue marker should work just fine for that. It's a very pretty image too.

If you want a snow effect I use white enamel from Inkssentials an then sprinkle the glitter. It would work really nice on your trees.

Another suggestion would be Sakura's Gelly Roll Stardust Clear pen. I used one of these on My Christmas cards a few years ago to highlight some embossed snowflakes. It adds a subtle shimmer and there is no mess -- you don't have to wait for the glue and glitter to dry. The packaging actually refers to it as roll on glitter.

Beautiful card. If your wanting to glitter the emboss image. I would use a glue pen.

or you could try brushing the stickles on with a small paint brush. I do that when the bottle gets really low. I take the tip off and just dip the brush in to get some and paint it on.

How timely is this topic! I was just wondering how to apply my glitter to a die cut tree for a winter scene. Wow, there are a lot of options out there....now I get to go try for the best one. Another question: I have some thick sparkly paper (DCWV) that feels almost like vinyl floor covering! Really! What glue would be best for adhering reg cardstock to that? I have tried different things last year but can't remember what they were that didn't work...hoping to avoid the whole shebang of experimenting AGAIN. It seems to me tape didn't work either. Thanks for any help!

I like Scrap Happy glue. Goes on very fine with a low-clog/no-clog tip and since the tip is so fine you won't use much and it shouldn't warp.

the paper may warp more with Stickles because if the embossing. It weakens the paper which leads to more warping. It is a pretty wet glitter glue. And hard to apply a tiny bit to this kind of area.

Anyone try cheap hairspray??????? You spray the item, then sprinkle glitter out of a salt shaker - you can put it on fairly evenly that way - then you spray again to fix it. It worked at my demo's but I haven't tried it since. . .
