Challenge Title: The Monster Mash
Hostess: StampingQueenJAR aka Judy
Keyword: HYCCT1211
Date: Thursday, October 11, 2012
Hello and welcome to the third annual Hope You Can Cling To Challenge! It's Day 11 and I have an inspiration challenge for you!
My challenge to you is a reminder! Get 'em mashed, squooshed, photographed, x-rayed, and checked! And to that end, we will be sharing creations inspired by "The Monster Mash"!
The lyrics are quite lengthy, so I didn't post them all here. Google has them! But verse one/chorus is:
I was working in the lab late one night
When my eyes beheld an eerie sight
For my monster from his slab began to rise
And suddenly to my surprise
He did the mash
He did the monster mash
The monster mash
It was a graveyard smash
He did the mash
It caught on in a flash
He did the mash
He did the monster mash
There are those that spend many holidays and celebration times in the hospital receiving care, and with Halloween coming up, I chose to make a fun Halloween card with dancing ghosts! You may be inspired by part of the lyrics, or by an image from the little song clip, the colors you see in the clip, or any number of things! Just share in your project description what inspired you. Just make it fun and not scary.
Note: Your card does not have to be a Halloween card.

Thanks for the challenge and the entertaining video Judy. I watched the whole thing. I do have a few tiny ideas and will probably be able to make something monstrous this afternoon. So 'see' you later.
I am so glad to see you have taken to your mom's hobby. She is one talented woman and will teach you right!! Your avatar is darling. My Fiona and Lucy want to meet your puppy. But it's pretty far......
Since you aren't a FC member, I have to wait until your photo is approved to see it.
I used my new Inkadinkado Trick or Treat set, but my costumed kids are being escorted by Froggy during daytime hours so it's not too scary. Added an orange geometric element for an accent. Here's Froggy's Friends

Darn, my card for the "word" challenge was inspired by the Monster Mash. I guess I'll just HAVE TO make another card. Gosh DARN.
That's my all time favorite holiday song. I sang along to the video. I had it on a 45 when I was a little kid and I must have listened to it a thousand times. My poor mother.
The song was from my era for sure! I was scared at first, but found the cutest card to CASE featuring owl punch monsters. I will definitely be making more of these for my little great nephew and kids at church! Thanks for the inspiration! That's why I so love challenges because they push me out of my comfort zone. Monster Mash
Judy- had to do another one- as I love black cats! Used Inkadinkado's Trick or Treat and an autumn stamping wheel from SU. Added a Nestie's lacy circle dc, and some ribbons. Here's Black Cat

Here's my Trick or Treat card.... I must admit I have avoided doing any kind of Holiday as I was thinking avoidance is best... BUT... "Normalcy" is probably the "norm" for treatment centers.... SO... we went Trick or Treating today!!!! ;)
This was even tougher than the challenge to make a humorous card. WAY out of my comfort zone. I almost decided to leave it and try to catch up at the end of the month, but I didn't want to get behind. And I wanted to be a good sport and make the effort to meet Judy's challenge. So here's my
Here's my card for this challenge! (I could kiss you though Judy as I was looking for this cartoon a while ago and just couldn't remember the name of it other than it was Googlies! I've now been on You Tube and watched all those old songs! Love it!!!)
