Mr. Noah and the smallest mouse

The Rest of the Story:
1. Amid all the jeers and chants of "He's crazy", Noah built his Ark to the specifications the Lord gave him. He sent family members out into the land to get the word out to all the animals to send their strongest male and most comely female and be ready to board the ark before the coming floods. Many of the animals didn't want to be on the same ark as other animals and some are terribly afraid of closed spaces and water, oh my!!....It took a lot of persuasion to get all the species represented.
2. Finally as the rains started coming down the animals were getting loaded on the ark and assigned to specific areas of the ark. Mr. Noah had assigned the task of keeping them seperate to his most trusted #1 son; and it was a big job too. The snakes wouldn't tolerate being anywhere near the chickens and the cats weren't thrilled being next to the pigs. Oh my, it took almost as long to load the animals as it did to build the entire ark! By the time they were all aboard the rains were really coming down and starting to pool in the low spots on the ground around the ark.
3. In a matter of hours, the ark was afloat and soon no sight of land was to be seen. Aboard the ark, things had to be ran with a very strict schedule of chores or it would soon become unbearable. Mrs. Noah was in charge of the duty roster and she wielded a firm hand keeping the place cleaned up. Clean drinking water was a must and a large cauldron was set up to collect rain water. As fast as the rain was coming down, the cauldron had to be emptied 3-4 times daily. But it was so tall that Mr. Noah couldn't see when it was getting ready to overflow. So he again asked his most trusted son to find a way to alert them. #1 son first asked the monkeys to climb up and alert them, but they started fighting and ran off without paying attention. Then he asked the giraffes to watch the cauldron; but they didn't like standing out in the rain. #1 son is really starting to fret about this. Mama mouse overheard him talking to himself and she knew just the right animal for the job.
4. She ran off and got her partner and told him to get out on deck right away, that Mr. Noah needs your help. "What can I do, we are African Pygmy mice, the smallest mice in the world". Mama mouse told him that this was a very important job and the fate of all the animals and Mr. Noah and his family could very well depend on finding the right person for the job. You will need to be very brave and climb way up above the rest of the animals and alert Mr. Noah when the water bowl is getting near full. "But, how will they hear me. You know our squeak is barely loud enough for other mice to hear?" "I know", she said, "but if you take this bell with you and ring it when it's time, that should work". So they ran out to the deck to find Mr. Noah and tell him their idea. Mr. Noah was trying to get the cat down from the edge of the cauldron since it was now scared to come down. When he heard their plan, he clapped his hands and said, "I think it just might work". So papa pygmy mouse scampered up the side of the framing and sat on the edge of the cauldron ready to ring his bell when it was time to empty the cauldron. Mama mouse was so proud and all the other mice were excited to know that something as small and insignificant as a mouse could be so important.

The moral of the story:
No matter how small or how imperfect, we all have a purpose on earth even if we haven't figured out what that purpose is yet.
Challenge Translation:
Ok, this one might be a bit difficult to figure out. Bring a card of encouragement to those having a difficult time. Bring an all white card if you want, but you can still have cookies if you bring color. Bring cards for new parents, cards with baby animals, cards with lots of love and hugs, cards that just say we care.
