Default School Auction Donation?

Have any of you made card sets or other items for school auctions? Were they popular?

Thanks!

Yes. I did a nice set for the (parochial) school auction. I made a set of 12 and packaged them nicely.

Sadly, they sold for $12. I was very disappointed. I spent a lot of time on them and the school got only $1 per card. :-/

I make card sets of 12 with envelopes in a paper drawer box (A2 card box tutorial on SCS) . At the school auction they went for $25 but people were definitely generous on all their bids that evening. I sold 5 sets at our church bazaar for $18 each an they all sold. I organized them by theme (birthday, thank you, holiday, thinking of you/get well/sympathy, and blank) The decorated boxes I think really helped with the presentation of the cards.

My mom was the proud recipient of my first handmade card. Cost $200.

I'm curious what people will say...have thought about donating some to our PTO, too.

I made card sets for a silent auction at church for years. The same woman bought them almost every time. About a month before the event, she'd ask "Will you be donating some of those pretty cards again?" Not a huge money maker for the event but every little bit helps!

I've done donations of baskets of asst. cards for our church auction. I would coach them on pricing. Per other posters, I had baskets of asst. cards in baskets (25) and they priced at $25 (and got that). My cards all have lots of nice embellishments, layering, ribbon, brads, eyelets, etc . $25 for 25 nice cards=someone got a good deal!!

Coached them on subsequent auctions as to starting price so that they wouldn't undercut what they potentially could get!
