There is no naive in card making.
If your tape is acid free then whatever tape or glue you use your items will be family heirlooms.
You can make your own glue dots. Most of us over here use Aleene's Tack It Over and Over to make our glue dots. Google "Make your own glue dots" for some excellent tutorials.
Scotch & Scor-Tape are permanent. Scor-Tape is so permanent your house won't move, lol. Scotch always has excellent tape products.
