I heard noise on the stoop but didn't see anyone so I grabbed the pot of boiling water I had on the stove and went back to the front door so I could keep Jack Nicholson from axing his way through the door to me and almost threw it onto my DH who had come home from work a bit early and seeing the trash on the porch, dutifully taken it to the dumpster and returned home. Needless to say that was the last horror movie I've watched!

I watched Psycho (the original with Anthony Hopkins) when I was a kid and I was so frightened that I didn't notice the wall lamp had shifted and was burning a hole in the paneling. No more scary movies for me!
