An apple for the teacher

Well, as a retired teacher, I can tell you that no apple makes up for neglected homework! However, I used images of apples frequently in my classroom-- bulletin boards, calendar die cuts, newsletter clipart.
Now, outside the classroom, apples are everywhere. It�s apple season. Fresh apples in the farmers� markets! It�s just not autumn without cider and applesauce, still warm and sprinkled with cinnamon sugar. Apple pie, warmed up, a la mode.
My challenge is for you to make a card or project using APPLES as your inspiration! They can be stamps of apple images, cards shaped like apples, apple dp, anything that is apple inspired!
1. ALL VSN CREATIONS MUST BE UPLOADED BY 10:00 PM EST ON Monday September 24th.
2. You have 45 minutes to complete the challenge.
3. Please remember to put in the correct keyword, SEP12VSNI, when uploading your image. Copying and pasting the challenge keyword is recommended to avoid typos.

A witch doctor kept the members of this tribe in virtual subjugation by means of powerful magic. Whenever one of the tribesmen tried to overthrow him, he would be turned into an apple! One night a group of tribesmen sneaked into his hut, opened his book of magic, learned the apple spell, and turned the witch doctor into an apple!
But the book warned that if the apple ever dried out and changed significantly in weight, it would turn back into the witch doctor, more powerful than ever! So every day the tribesmen placed the apple on a scale to make sure that its weight remained the same.
Moral: A weigh a day keeps the doctor an apple.

Good friends and similarly addicted paper crafters come to my house on occasion for paper tricks. Last Sunday, 9 or ten (I lost count...) tricksters assembled for chips, dip, and tips with tools, toys and tricks. I left my back to school stuff out and offered them a chance to try out the apples challenge. Here's Viki's effort:

It does seem quiet here today! I'm getting pretty burned out and am not sure how many more challenges I'll get done today or leave for tomorrow or Monday! I only made 2 last night and so far today I'm made 7. That's a lot of cards!

I started with middle school. Fourth grade was my favorite, though, and I was fortunate enough to have that assignment for most of my career.

It sure is apple season! I remember visiting family in Michigan and going to a place where they make all things apples (including cider) and it was pretty cool (and smelled yummy!)

For me, it's the ride up to Julian, CA, in Septembers, late 70's. There were SO many orchards, then, and each one had a cider press in operation. COLD, fresh cider!
